Hello everyone.

This week, we had a puppet show as a school event. “HOBOS” (Mean：they travel around giving talks here and there) led the children into an exciting world with their fun talk and performance. The story was “Chuko’s Wedding,” and the base story was “The Bride of a Mouse.” Our children were fascinated by the puppet show, as they were curious about the characters that appeared one after another. The story was about Chuko the mouse’s father wanting to marry his daughter to the strongest man in the world. And it turns out that the perfect man for her is Chuta, another mouse. I was interested in how well the Rainbow children understood the story, so in the evening, I asked questions (in English) such as “What did you do today?”, “Which characters appeared?”, and “Who was the strongest?” And what a wonderful thing! The Rainbow, our children understood the story well. They understood the characteristics of the characters that appeared, the feelings of the mice, and even the strategy they used to escape from the cat. It was a wonderful, soul-enriching experience.

This month’s new topic is “Clothing”. It’s a perfect topic for this time of year when the cold weather is getting more severe and children are looking for warmth in various types of clothing. We are focusing on various types of clothing such as jackets, hats, gloves, and scarves. We are learning their names and thinking about their roles. On cold days, jackets and gloves keep us warm. On hot summer days, a short-sleeved T-shirt is enough. I think knowledge based on real experiences seeps into children’s hearts (naturally). As part of this month’s topic, we will not only learn the names and roles of clothing but also think about and practice real-life activities (how to fasten and unfasten zippers and buttons, and how to fix inside-out clothing).

As the anticipation for the Christmas show grew, the practice of the performance became more heated. To liven up the Christmas mood, our children enjoyed making ornaments for the Christmas tree in the craft class. They put cute Santa hats on their Santa Clause faces. A large number of Santa Clauses with expressive faces were born!

Playing outside and in the park is a wonderful activity that allows children to free their minds and bodies and develop them. Even before they leave, our children’s happy and joyful expressions move us (the teachers) to the core. Come on! Let’s go out and have some fun playing outside! Looking at the snow-capped Northern Alps in the distance and the children’s big smiles, we realize the significance and wonder of interacting with nature.
