For the phonics lessons they learned the “ie” and “igh” vowel teams. They played a game called musical chair. For the first round the person who was left without anywhere to sit had to read a word shown to them by the teacher. For the second round two people had to team up to read a selected word and then make a sentence using that word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For this week’s UOI, we further explored the concept of teamwork by doing team building challenges. Trying to balance a ball using woolen string and trying to build a tall tower using spaghetti. Through both of these challenges, the students found out that listening to others’ ideas is a big determinant of whether a team succeeds or fails in whatever they set out to do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
