Welcome to our first blog of the month of November.This week we moved on to learning about the 5th and final element of stories for our 1st line of inquiry. The students listened to the &#8220;three little  pigs &#8221; story and had to answer these 2 questions: (1). What went wrong in the story?  Some of their responses were,&#8221;The wolf blew down the second pig&#8217;s house&#8221;, &#8220;the wolf destroyed the houses.&#8221;(2) What was the outcome?Some of their responses to this question were, &#8220;the wolf fell into a hot pot and ran away because he was scared&#8221;,&#8221; the wolf couldn&#8217;t blow down the brick house because it was very strong.&#8221; The first lesson&#8217;s main focus was for them to try and identify the issues that arose in the story. They did very well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Three Little Pigs \u2013 \ud83d\udc37\ud83d\udc37\ud83d\udc37 Read aloud of the classic tale about the value of hard work!\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/FNYBQsay_Ek?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We continued where we left off the following day by listening to three stories. THE ANT AND THE GRASSHOPPER, GOLDILOCKS AND THE THREE BEARS and THE THREE LITTLE PIGS. As we asked each other questions and making comments as the stories were being read, the students eventually figured out that the next element we were going to learn about was &#8220;conflicts and solutions&#8221;. In some stories characters encounter problems(conflicts) and in most cases than not, they figure out how to handle these problems. To gauge the students understanding and to help what they learned stick in, they worked on these three stories in three groups. They were provided with problems from all of the three stories and had to figure out the possible solutions to these issues with their group members. They then took turns to do short skits to retell the conflicts and solutions they discussed,in front of their peers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default and wrote the solutions they discussed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We added &#8220;gr&#8221; blends vocabulary to our word bank this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed
