As part of our cultural inquiry, our teacher talked about her country and its culture. We learned that the Philippines is right below Japan and it has many traditional dances and songs. We learned some Filipino foods such as adobo and halo-halo (which means mix, mix).

Moreover, one of the parents came and talked about her culture. We learned so many things about China such as The Great Wall, The Forbidden City, the clay soldiers, their 56 ethnic groups, their traditional costumes, New Year’s food, and more! The Great Wall is so long that it will be like from Hokkaido to Okinawa when stretched! Amazing!

We also spent our week preparing for our upcoming cultural event. We will showcase the cultures of the five countries we learned. We prepared maps, flags, and food in Japan, Vietnam, China, and the Philippines. Thanks to our friends in elementary class for helping us.
