At ISN, learning doesn’t stop with our students—it extends to our teachers as well.

As part of our ongoing Teacher Exchange Program, preschool and elementary teachers visit one another’s classrooms to observe, collaborate, and learn together. This initiative helps ensure that the strong foundations built in preschool continue seamlessly into the elementary years, creating a more connected learning journey for our students.

This week, it was Mr. Josh’s turn. Earlier this month, he visited the Rainforest class to observe our daily routines and see how inquiry-based learning is brought to life in the classroom. This week, he returned—not as an observer, but as the learning facilitator.

Mr. Josh led an engaging phonics lesson, helping our Rainforest learners deepen their understanding of the long /a/ vowel teams ai and ay. Through interactive activities, the students explored a variety of words and strengthened both their reading and spelling skills.

The learning didn’t stop there! To connect with our current Unit of Inquiry on teamwork, the class also participated in two exciting team challenges—the Telephone Game and the Towel Game. After each activity, the students reflected on what went well, what could be improved, and how working together affected the outcome.
