The last week we began learning how to clean our classroom; after Miss Brigitte swept, students all took turns mopping, wiping, and tidying. Now this will be our routine every day: at around 3pm we will have afternoon tea and then we will proceed with the jobs that take care of our belongings and our classroom. This excercise will not only enhance students understanding of the importance of organisation but it will also help build a responsible and caring attitude toward each other and their school. In addition it will help them continue to develop respect for and valuing of their belongings, their learning, and the environment around them.
Each morning this week we have also been examining the weather in more detail and writing notes about it. Then from those notes we have been saying sentences that explain them. To help with these observations, we have tied 2 ribbons on the tree outside so we can tell which way the wind is blowing and how strong it is.
