The past month, we sang really fun and hilarious songs associated with food. Our favourite is “Do You Like Broccoli?” It is a great sing-and-response song. It goes like this:
今月、Meadowクラスではとてもユニークな食べ物に関係する歌をうたい、学び、楽しんでいます。それは、”Do You Like Broccoli?”というタイトルの歌です。問いかけに対して答えのある、素晴らしい歌です。
“Do you like broccoli? Yes, I do.
Do you like ice cream? Yes, I do.
Do you like broccoli ice cream?
No, I don’t. YUCKY!”
The children just love answering “Yes, I do” with a thumbs-up and of course “Yucky”. The song goes on with a list of other types of food like popcorn and pizza, banana and soup. The children expand their food vocabulary, learn question-answer format, and get to say YUCKY out loud!
子供たちは”Yes, I do”と親指を上に向けて答えることが好きで、また、”Yucky”ということも、もっと好きで、毎回楽しんでいます。歌の歌詞にはポップコーン、ピザ、バナナ、スープなどが登場します。子供たちはここから自分の好きな食べ物に言葉を膨らませ、また質問と回答の形式、YUCKY と大きな声で言うことも学びました。

In preparation for our Halloween Event in October, we made Jack ‘O Lanterns. The children pasted eyes, nose, and mouth on paper pumpkins. We read a book on pumpkins and the children liked the rhyming – “Pumpkin, pumpkin, orange and round. Growing on the patchy ground.”
10月に行われる、ハロウィーンパーティーに向けて、Jack ‘O Lantern（かぼちゃのランプ）を制作しました。紙で作ったかぼちゃに、糊で目を貼り、鼻や口を貼りました。ハロウィーンについての本を読み、本のフレーズで”Pumpkin, pumpkin, orange and round. Growing on the patchy ground.”と言葉遊びも楽しみました。

We reviewed letters Aa to Ee with magnetic letters and playdough. We played matching games with pictures of food on our monthly Topic Wall.
Aa からEeまでのアルファベットを、マグネットと粘土を使用し、復習しました。また、今月のトピックの食べ物についても、壁に張った写真を見ながらマッチングゲームをしました。

There was a break from the rain one of the mornings, so we took a walk with our Walking Rope. It was a lovely stroll to the farms and a garden with colourful flowers. We breathed in the crisp, cool air,  ah… 🙂 Meadow has really grown so much in their spatial awareness. They are firmer with their footing, and are walking steadily as a whole class. They pay better attention to teachers’ instructions too. Kudos to our little ones!
雨の止んだタイミングにWalking Ropeを使い、お散歩に出かけました。お花畑や、野菜畑へ散歩はとても気持ちがよく、皆で雨上がりの澄んだ空気を吸い込みました。今日はMeadow全員の成長を感じられる一日となりました。以前より、確実に先生の指示を聞くことができ、しっかりとした足取りでお散歩も満喫することが出来ました。
