Kids Dream Day

It was a Kids’ Dream Day indeed! We had a thrilling experience as we watched a live basketball game! Shinshu Brave Warriors vs. Yamagata Wyverns. Not only did we enjoy the excitement of the game, but we also connected it to our Unit of Inquiry (UOI) topic: Technology. It was a day full of energy, learning, and fun, and we couldn’t wait to see the connections we made between the fast-paced world of sports and the technology all around us.

The game was filled with thrilling plays, buzzer-beaters, and cheering crowds. But what made this experience even more exciting was how we tied it into our exploration of technology. As we sat in the gymnasium, we eagerly observed the various technologies that help bring the game to life. From the giant scoreboard to the lights illuminating the court, we quickly realized that technology is everywhere– cameras, shot clocks, scoreboard, speakers, microphones, headphones, and even the players’ shoes!

The day after the game, we discussed what technology we saw at the game and how it helps make our lives better and easier, especially for basketball players. We also discussed the technology behind the ball, its history, and the reasons why the ball changed over time. We are still curious how technology in basketball shoes helps the players.
