Greetings,
Welcome to Shooting Star’s second blog for the month of October.
This week, we embarked on our third unit of inquiry with our Transdisciplinary Theme, How We Express Ourselves. Our central idea for this unit is, We express our feelings in an appropriate manner and understand the feelings of others. Our first line of inquiry is, Different kinds of feelings. We carried out a mind map activity to check the prior knowledge of students about feelings or emotions. Some students answered like angry, shy, good, not good, funny, etc. Students seemed conversant with this topic that they can make up stories of different facial expressions presented to them. We also did a sorting out activity by grouping varieties of emotions into sad, happy, angry, and others. Shooting Star students were motivated to engage in the discussion by sharing their opinions. Keep it up, Shooting Star.
We had an amazing phonics activity with lots of motion to get us up and moving with the lesson. We played the merry- go-round game and everyone had a lively moment reading the CVC words.
We had a nice weather and cooler temperature this week that we couldn’t afford to miss going to the park. Once at the park, we spotted some acorns on the ground. We enjoyed picking them up and we used them for sensory play and counting.
Have a fantastic long weekend, everyone.
