Welcome back to Aurora’s blog about yet another fantastic week here at ISN! We went to the park for the first time, had our reflective interview about our last UOI, used our bodies in the gym and music lessons, had a fun swimming lesson, and went on our bus trip!
ここISNで過ごした素晴らしい週の様子、オーロラブログへようこそ！私たちは、週の初めに公園へ行き、ユニット２についての振り返りインタビューをし、ジムや、スイミング、ミュージックレッスンをして、バストリップに行って来ました🤩
UOI reflection week
This week we have not been doing any UOI lesson, but rather reflecting back on what we have done. All the kids have done a short interview with their teacher. The interview is a short discussion about what we have done and a few simple questions about what they liked and why they liked it. This also helps us when planning the activity for the next unit.
今週は、ユニット２で行ったことの振り返りの週となりました。子どもたち全員が先生と短いインタビューを行いました。インタビューでは、私たちが何をしたのかについて、そして彼ら何が好きで、なぜそれが好きだったのかについての簡単な質問をしました。この振り返りを通して、次のユニットのアクティビティを計画する時にも役立ちます。
Return to the park
The covid level has dropped and the weather is great. That can only mean one thing…It’s time to go to the park again! Before going, we explained to the kids that if there were a lot of people at the park, we had to turn back and play at school instead. They all understood, and were hopeful for an empty park.
コロナ感染警戒レベルが下がり、久々にみんなで公園へ出かけることにしました。しかし、公園にたくさんの人がいた場合は…スクールに戻って園庭で遊びます。と、みんなに説明をすると、子どもたちはみんな理解してくれました。そして、いざ出発です☆彡
It’s been a while, but everyone walked nicely and safely to the park together. And as luck would have it, we arrived at an empty park! Everyone had a lot of fun running around and using all the equipment in the park. We can’t wait to go back again!
久しぶりにみんなで、安全に公園まで歩いて行きました。そして…公園には幸運にも私たちだけです🤩素晴らしい秋晴れのすがすがしい空の下、みんなで思いっきり公園の遊具で遊んだり、走り回ったりとても楽しかったです🤩また次が待ちきれません！！
Monthly song (Spooky scary skeletons)
October has arrived, and it’s the spookiest month of the year! To get in the right mood for our upcoming Halloween party, we will be singing a spooky song this month. “Spooky scary skeletons” is this year’s fun Halloween song. We are trying to learn this first half of the song before our Halloween party in a couple of weeks:
１０月がやってきました。そして一年でもっとも不気味な月です🎃今月のハロウィンパーティにぴったりの気分を味わうために、今月は不気味な歌を歌います。「不気味な怖いスケルトン」は、今年度のオーロラのハロウィンソングです🎃ハロウィンパーティの前に、この曲の前半を数週間で学ぼうと思います。

It’s not the easiest lyrics to remember, but the kids are all having a blast singing it in class! Please try this spooky song at home too!
覚えるのが簡単な歌詞ではありませんが、子どもたちはみんなクラスで楽しんで歌っています🎃お家でもこの不気味な曲を試してみてください🎃
Aurora bats!
To make the classroom a bit more eerie, we decorated the room with our own scary bats. To make the bats we first painted a toilet paper roll black. After the paint dried, the kids got to choose from a variety of different wings, eyes and mouths. They made their selections, and glued them on to complete their bats. It was fun to see that how many different bats we got!
私たちのオーロラの教室をもう少し不気味にするために、みんなで怖いコウモリ🦇で部屋を飾りました。コウモリを作るために、最初にトイレットペーパーの芯を黒く塗っていきました。絵の具が乾いた後、子どもたちはさまざまな翼、目、口の中から好きなパーツを選び、黒く塗ったペーパー芯に貼り付けました。たくさんの🦇コウモリが集まっているのを見るのは、迫力があり楽しかったです！🦇🦇
Music lesson
We had another fun music lesson this week. To work on our listening and gross motor skills, the teacher had a fun activity. The students sat down in pairs, facing each other, with a ball in hand. When the teacher played on the piano, they had to roll the ball to their friend.
今週もまた、楽しい音楽のレッスンがありました☺私たちのリスニングと粗大運動技術に取り組むために、先生は楽しい活動をしました。子どもたちは、ボールを手に、向かい合ってペアで座りました。先生がピアノを弾くとき、ペアの相手のお友達にボールを転がします。
Next, we started practicing castanets. The teacher had signs showing the different rhythms that they had to try and follow. It was the same system as when we practiced the bells, where the “O” means hit and “X” means don’t hit. The Christmas show is just a couple of months away now, and we have a lot to practice and prepare. But I’m not worried! I know our wonderful Aurora class will work hard and do their best!
次に、カスタネットの練習を始めました。先生は、〇と✕がかかれたたリズムカードをみんなに見えるように持っています。鈴を練習した時と同じ要領で、「〇」はたたく、「✕」はお休みを意味しています。クリスマスショウへ向けての練習が始まりました。これからたくさんの練習と準備をしていきます。でも、心配はありません❕私たちの素晴らしいオーロラが一所懸命にベストを尽くして取り組めることを私は知っています❕
Bus trip!
The big day was finally here! We have been unlucky with the weather in the past, but this time the weather was perfect for a fun day outside! Before going on the bus, the spirits were already very high. Everyone was very excited to finally go on our bus trip.
ついに子どもたちが楽しみにしていたバストリップ🚌の日がやってきました！今回は、バストリップにぴったりの素晴らしいお天気に恵まれました🤩バスに乗る前からみんなのテンションはマックス🤩みんなバストリップを楽しみにしていてくれて嬉しかったです🚌
We went over all the rules we have to follow when we go somewhere. Two of the most important rules are of course: always listen to the teachers and stay together with your friends. It was a hot day, so we also reminded how important it is to drink a lot and take breaks.
私たちは、外部へ出かけるときはかならずみんなでルールのお話をします。そして、常に先生のお話を聞く耳をもつこと、そしてお友達と一緒にいることがとても大切です。また、暑くなる日だったので、こまめに休憩・水分補給をすることも心がけながら出発しました🚌❕❕
When we arrived at the park, everyone followed the rules we have agreed to follow. I’m so happy to see how much Aurora has grown since the beginning of the schoolyear! There were some young children at the park, so we all agreed that we have to be careful around young friends when we play. I was very impressed by how well everyone is able to climb around on all the equipment in the park. And it was no surprise that the big train was very popular with our Aurora kids!
私たちが公園に到着したとき、みんながやくそくを守って行動できました。年度初めからオーロラのみんながどれだけ成長したかを見てとても嬉しいです。公園には、オーロラのみんなより小さなお友達がいました。遊ぶときは、小さなお友達に気を付けながら「caring」「principled」の気持ちを持って遊ぶことをみんなで決めました。さまざまな遊具に興味津々のオーロラのみんな🤩そして、登ったり、つかまったり、滑ったり、バランスをとったり、くぐったり、機敏に動くその姿に感銘を受けました🤩そして、大きな電車🚊がオーロラの子どもたちには一番人気でした🤩❕
After playing for a bit, something very surprising happened. A lot of elementary students also came to the park for their own field trip! The park got way too bus, so we decided to over to the big grass field next to the playground. Which was perfect for our class, because they all love to run around big open spaces! Someone had also drawn a track in the middle of the field, so we decided to have an impromptu race! However, after the race started, the kids waiting in line for their turn also starting running! So, we just had fun running around together instead. It was a lot of fun!
少し遊んでいると、たくさんの小学１年生のお兄さんお姉さんたちも公園へやって来ました。少々大人数になってしまたので、私たちは、公園の隣にある大きな芝生のフィールドへと場所を移しました。広い大きなオープンスペースを走り回るのが大好きなオーロラのみんななので、これは私たちにぴったりの場所でした❕フィールドの真ん中には、レースのトラックが描かれていたので、私たちは即席のレースをすることにしました🏳🌈しかし、レースが始まると、順番を待っていたはずの子どもたちも走り出してしまい…🏃🏃🏃なので、先生たちもみんなで一緒に走ることにしました🤩とっても楽しかったです。
We sat down together in the nice cool shade for our lunch. Everyone was hot and tired, so it was the perfect timing to relax and eat. They were so happy to show their teachers their lunch boxes. Thank you so much, parents, for preparing such wonderful lunch boxes! It looked so yummy!
みんなが待ちに待っていたお弁当の時間です🤩木の下の涼しい日陰にレジャーシートを敷いてみんなで座りました。たくさん走り回って、お腹も空いてきたオーロラさん！おうちの方が作ってくれたお弁当を木陰の涼しい場所で、リラックスしながらみんなで楽しくおしゃべりをしながらいただきました。子どもたちは、先生たちに嬉しそうに幸せそうにお弁当を見せてくれました🤩朝早くから、子どもたちの為に愛情たっぷりのお弁当をご準備してくださりありがとうございます❕とってもおいしかったです🤩
After the lunch, we headed back to school for some well-deserved rest!
