Hello everyone!
みなさん、こんにちは。
The summer program came to an end this week, which means we had to say goodbye to our good friend who joined us for the program. We had a lot of fun together, and we hope to see you again in the future! Thank you for two great week!
今週でサマープログラムが終了しました。このサマープログラムに参加してくれたお友達ともしばらくのお別れです。この夏、一緒に楽しい時間を過ごせてとても楽しかったです。そして、また、会えることを楽しみにしています。素晴らしい２週間をありがとうございました。
Clay animals
We talked about our field trip last week to the zoo again. We review what animals we saw at the zoo, and what we had learned. Did we see the animals that we expected to see? What food did they eat?
After the discussion, we used clay to make the animals we saw at the zoo.
先週、私たちは、最初のLOIである「身の回りの動物たち」に関連して城山動物園へ社会見学に出かけました。そして、そこではzoo animals（動物園に住む動物たち）について学び観察してきました☺
どんな動物がいて、どんな行動をしていて、どんな食べ物を食べていたのかをみんなで思い出しながら、ディスカッションをしました。そしてその後、それぞれが印象に残った動物を形にすることにしました。今回初めて粘土を使って、動物を作ることに挑戦しました。粘土をちぎったり、丸めたり、細長く伸ばしたり、道具を使って模様を描いたりと、初めての粘土制作に挑戦🤩イメージ通りに制作することはなかなか難しかったですが、先生からヒントをもらったりしながら、楽しく活動ができました。今後も、UOIを通して学んだこと（evidencing learning)の手段の一つとして、粘土制作も取り入れていきたいと思います。
Playing with water outside
The weather has been sunny and very hot all week, so we have been lucky enough to play in our pool every day! We are still using the buckets we made last week. Some of the used the buckets to pour water on their own heads. They told the teachers that they were talking apple juice and milk showers!
今週のお天気は、毎日晴れ☀とても暑い一週間となりました。私たちは、園庭でのプール遊びを毎日楽しむことができました🤩先週みんなで工作したミニバケツを引き続き今週も楽しんで使ってくれているオーロラのみんな☺中にはミニバケツを使って自分の頭に水を注いだり、リンゴジュース、ミルクジュースを浴びているんだよ☆彡と教えてくれる子どもたちもいました🤩みんなの楽しい発想に先生たちもたくさん笑っています🤩
Jumping frog crafts
We also made some jumping frogs this week. Before we started, the teacher explained what and how we were going to make the frogs. First, they need to glue the frog’s legs to its body. Then, they need to draw the frog’s face and decorate the body however they want. They also got some googly eyes to use for the frog’s eyes. Each student also received two paper cups that we need to make their frogs jump. The cups could be decorated by whatever color, picture or shape they wanted to make it special. To make it able to jump, we need to cut the cup, and attach a rubber band inside one of the cups. The teacher came to the students so they could safely cut their cup with the scissor. I’m very impressed by how much everyone’s cutting skills has improved since we first started using scissors. Good job everyone! The final part of this craft was gluing their frogs to their cups. Their frogs were now ready to jump as much as their heart desire!
今週は、ジャンプするカエルもみんなで作りました。初めに、先生がカエルを作る方法をみんなに説明してくれました。まず、カエルの足を体に貼り付けます。次に、カエルの顔を描き、好きなように体を飾ります。そして、 ジャンプできるようにするには、カップを切り、輪ゴムを取り付けます。
さて、いよいよ工作の開始です❕
まずは、カエルの足を体に貼り、カエルのお顔を描いて、面白い動く目のシールを貼り付けました☺次に、カエルをジャンプさせるための紙コップを２つずつ受け取りました。カップは、特別な色，絵、形で飾りました。その後、先生が子どもたちのところに来てはさみで一緒にカップに切り込みをいれました。みんなだんだんとはさみを使うことに慣れてきて、上達しているね🤩そして、輪ゴムを取り付けて…最後に、作成したカエルをカップに貼り完成です☆彡
みんなのカエルは、みんなのエネルギーと同じくらいジャンプをする準備ができていました🤩
August’s monthly song ( A whole new world )
A new month, means a new monthly song! Our new monthly song for August is called “A whole new world” from the movie Aladdin. We have been singing the whole song, but focusing on the first verse. I think they are doing very well, and I even hear them sing the song by themselves during the day too! The song is a ballad, so maybe you can sing it at home together too! I hope to have a video of our wonderful kids singing by the end of the month. Please look forward to it!
今月の歌は、映画アラジンの「ホール・ニュー・ワールド」をみんなで歌っています☺歌全体を歌っていますが、まずは最初の詩に焦点をあてて歌っています。みんなとっても上手に、そして日中に歌っているお友達もいるくらいオーロラのみんなは歌が大好きです🤩是非、お家でも一緒に歌ってみてください🤩また、今月の終わりには子どもたちが歌っている様子をお届けしますね。楽しみにしていてください🤩
