At the end of a week with our usual activities, fun and learning, we enjoyed a bus trip, museum visit and a walk around the historical sites of the Kawanakajima Old Battlefield.
The weather was perfect all morning! We walked first to the Nagano City Museum, and had a look at the lives of people who have lived here for thousands of years up until now. Some questions were quietly asked and answered, and everyone enjoyed the many exhibits.
We walked back to the monument immortalizing the personal combat between the two warlords at that battle and talked about what brought so many fighters here that day. We will talk more about war and peace, and how it affects the growth of society, and of cities.
After walking, looking, posing and talking nicely for a couple of hours, everyone was ready for PLAYTIME (and acorn harvesting) before our picnic lunch!
After eating, we had a little time to kick the ball and enjoy the grassy field before we loaded the bus, and headed back to school for the afternoon. A beautiful day!
