It was a week packed with preparation activities for our upcoming Cultural Day on Monday. Each team worked hard to make the items we will exhibit for the event. We made pretend food and clothes from our assigned country, wrote their language, traditions, and more!

今週は月曜日に予定されている文化デーに向けての準備活動でいっぱいでした。各チームはイベントで展示する品物を作るために一生懸命に取り組みました。私たちは割り当てられた国の食べ物や衣服を模造品として作り、その国の言語や伝統などを書きました。

On Wednesday, one of our parents came to talk about his culture. He talked about where he grew up, where his ancestors originally came from, the food, and some symbols in the US. We learned that the US is a country of mixed cultures. Thank you!

水曜日には、保護者の一人が彼の文化について話しに来てくれました。彼は自分が育った場所、彼の先祖がもともとどこから来たのか、食べ物、そしてアメリカのいくつかのシンボルについて話しました。私たちはアメリカがさまざまな文化が混ざり合った国であることを学びました。ありがとう！

We ended the week with an exciting trip to Hokusai Museum. This tour helped us understand art in Japan through Katsushika Hokusai, a famous artist who painted some of the most renowned artwork in the world such as The Great Wave off Kanagawa. We learned the people’s daily lives in the past by looking at his paintings. We also saw many merchandise such as shirts, hats, bags, Kimono Obi, etc. inspired by Hokusai’s paintings. These items also represent Japanese culture through art.

今週は、北斎美術館への楽しい旅で終わりました。このツアーでは、神奈川沖浪裏など、世界で最も有名な芸術作品を描いた有名な芸術家、葛飾北斎を通して日本の芸術を理解することができました。私たちは彼の絵を見て、昔の人々の日常生活を学びました。また、北斎の絵にインスピレーションを受けたシャツ、帽子、バッグ、着物帯などの多くの商品も見ました。これらの品々も芸術を通して日本文化を表しています。
