I bought a 300 piece puzzle of My Neighbour Totoro to school. The children found it very difficult to do but over 3 days we finished it with a lot of teamwork from many of the students, especially the girls.
This week we are looking at the final line of inquiry for the unit; patterns and cycles affect our lives. We’ve talked about how the weather changes a person’s behaviour, especially from winter to summer. We might be more sleepy in winter and like to eat warm food. In summer, we are excited to play outside and eat lots of cold food like watermelon, somen and iced tea. We also talked about the patterns in our daily and weekly lives at home and at school.
In phonics, we have done words ending in -nd, -lk and sk. I tested everyone on their reading and the students have made a lot of progress over the last 10 months.
