“Good food is the foundation of genuine happiness.” – Auguste Escoffier
You may have a favorite food, but the best choice is to eat a variety. Eating healthy foods is a must! It keeps skin, teeth, and eyes healthy, supports muscles, strengthens bones, supports brain development, and boosts immunity.
In our UOI lesson this week, we talked about our “favorite food”. We also sang new songs about food and learned some English phrases such as “yes, I do” and “no, I don’t”. Our little ones were so happy and excited to hear these songs:
For our activity, they shared the food they like and colored it. While doing the activity, our youngsters said “it’s yummy!” and pretended to eat it. Thank you for sharing your favorite food, Canyon!
For our phonics lesson, we are still learning about the letter A and its sound. They love singing our alphabet song while doing some actions for each letter. To identify the uppercase and lowercase letter A, we did a “color the letter A” activity.
For writing lesson, they traced uppercase and lowercase letter A using their play dough. This activity aims to develop fine motor skills. Developing finger muscles and having proper finger control is an important first step to learning how to write at school.
Good job, everyone!
One of the highlights this week was our Earthquake Drill training for both parents and students. We pretended that there was a big earthquake that occurred, and we asked them what’s going to happen when there is an earthquake; they said “it’s shaking.” Our young ones practiced safety precautions like covering their heads, hiding under the table until the shaking stops, putting on their hat for head cover, and evacuating from the building. We also talked about the do’s and don’ts when an earthquake happens, such as:
O, HA, SHI, MO
– do not push
– do not run
– do not talk
– do not come back
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
