Hello everyone and welcome back to the weekly blog of Canyon class! It was another busy yet full of fun week for our boys and girls!
みなさん、こんにちは。クラスの毎週のブログにようこそ！ クラスの男の子も女の子も毎日忙しくて楽しい一週間でした！
Since we successfully reviewed the parts of our bodies last week, we are now focusing on looking at how our bodies become the same or different from others. We started by letting them draw their own faces with the use of the mirror. We gave them an empty outline of the face and asked them to look in the mirror and check what parts of their face are missing. Canyon students were able to draw their faces completely and apply the appropriate color on it.
The next day, we discussed the similarities and differences that we discovered in their drawings. We learned that everyone in our class has hair, eyebrows, eyes, nose, mouth, and ears which makes us the same. On the other hand, we become different from one another because of the color, size, and shape of those parts of the face. By just looking at our faces, we can say that we are all unique!
先週、自分たちの身体のパーツを一つ一つ知る事が出来たので今週は自分の身体が他の皆と同じか、または異なるかどうかを調べてみました。 鏡を見て自分の顔を描くことから始めてみました。 顔の輪郭だけ用意し、鏡を見て顔のどの部分が欠けているかを一緒に考えてみました。 クラスのみんなは、顔を描きあげ、見合った色を塗ることができました。
We are very curious about the size of our hands and want to see if we can find something the same or different with our tiny little hands. We told them to get a partner, face each other, and put their hands together. We asked whose hands are smaller/bigger or may have the same size. We taught them to state their answers in complete sentences. My hands are smaller/bigger than _____ (student’s name). Our hands have the same size. Another exciting activity was making our handprints using paint. The teachers painted their hands and students stamped them on the paper. After releasing their hands from the paper, that’s when they see their handprints. We then measured how long our hands using cube blocks and counted how many fingers we have. We say, My hands are ____(number) cubes long. I have 10 fingers.
手の大きさに興味を持ち、皆同じ小さな手でも同じか異なるかを知りたいと思いました。 パートナーを組み、お互いに向き合い、手を合わせてみました。 誰の手が小さいか、大きいか、それとも同じ大きさかを考えてみました。 私の手は_____（お友達の名前）よりも小さい/大きいです。 私たちの手は同じサイズです。など比べて発表してみました。 その他に、保育士が絵の具を 手に塗り、子供たちは紙にスタンプを押してみました。 紙から手を離した後自分の手形を見てとても見入っていました。 そして立方体のブロックを使いスタンプの手の長さを測ったり、指の数を数えてました。 私の手は____（数）立方体の長さです。 私は10本の指を持っています。と発表することができました。
In Phonics, we focused on the uppercase letter B. We reviewed the sound it makes, and the words beginning with it such as bus, banana, bell, ball, balloon, butterfly, boat, and boy. They colored in some pictures of those words. Shading all the boxes with the letter B also helps them to recognize and remember the said letter. At the end, they noticed that there’s a mystery letter after shading the boxes and it was a big letter B! They also practiced tracing uppercase letter B.
フォニックスでは、大文字のBを学びました。Bが発する音と、それで始まるバス、バナナ、ベル、ボール、風船、蝶、ボート、男の子などの単語を知ることができました。 そしてそれらの絵に色を塗りました。 色塗りをしながら文字を認識して覚ることができます。
In Math, they played the Number Bingo game for the first time. This game helps them to recognize numbers 0 to 10. The teacher calls out a number they need to find in their Bingo cards. The rule of the game is to get three numbers in a line, to say BINGO! and they can change their Bingo card to continue the game. Our boys and girls loved this game and had so much fun!
ナンバービンゴゲームをしてみました。 このゲームは、0から10までの数字を認識するのに役立ちます。ランダムに6つの数字が書かれたカードを渡し保育士が数字を言い、 自分のカードに数字を見つけることができたら数字上におはじきを置いて、3つの数字が一列に並んだらビンゴです！「ビンゴ！」と言い ビンゴカードを交換してゲーム続行です。 男の子も女の子もこのゲームが大好きで、とても楽しかったようです！
This month, we are also practicing saying the sentences What’s your name? and My name is _____. through singing a song and by playing pass the ball which our kids really enjoyed doing. They learn as they play!
今月は、「お名前は？」という文章を練習しています。 私の名前は_____です。と。 歌を歌ったり、パスをしたりして、子どもたちが楽しんでボールを渡し合います。 遊びながら学ぶことができます！
Having gym lessons, playing at the park, and taking a walk also keep our adorable children active and healthy!
ジムのレッスンを受けたり、公園で遊んだり、お散歩したりと、可愛らしい子どもたちはアクティブで健康に育ちます！
