Hello everyone! This week we have been exploring the line of inquiry 3, relationships between transportation and communities. Students created their own transportation that they thought forms a good relationship with the community. In other words helps the community. We also discussed what other transportations help people and how they help others. Everyone seems very excited for the field trip and we have been preparing for that by creating skits and showing each other how we should get on the school bus, train and the public bus. Grade 1 has been very engaged in this activity, which makes me think they are unconsciously getting ready for the Christmas show! We also went outside to harvest sunflower and morning glory seeds. Students found it fascinating and enjoyed pulling out the seeds. When asked what we should do with these seeds, grade 1 were very caring and suggested to give them to next year’s grade 1 class. Next week we will be moving on to line of inquiry 4, development of transportation over time.
みなさん、こんにちは。今週は、探究の流れ(LOI)3「交通機関と地域社会の関係」を探究しています。生徒たちは、地域社会と良い関係を築く交通機関を自分たちで考えて作りました。言い換えれば、地域社会を助けるということです。また、どんな交通機関がどのように人々を助けているのかについても話し合いました。みんな遠足をとても楽しみにしているようで、スクールバスや電車、公共バスの乗り方を短い劇にして見せ合ったりして、遠足の準備をしています。１年生は演じことをとても楽しんでいて、無意識にクリスマスショーの準備をしているのではと思います。 また、外に出て、ひまわりや朝顔の種を収穫しました。生徒たちは、その面白さに気づき、楽しそうに種を抜いていました。この種をどうするかという質問に対して、1年生はとてもやさしい考えを持っていて、来年の1年生のクラスにあげることを提案してくれました。来週は、LOI4「交通機関の発達」に進みます。
