Hi everyone!

Thank you to all the parents who joined our open day! The kids had a lot of fun speaking English together with you! I hope it gives them more courage to speak English at home too!

Sharing is caring

We discussed handling situations where they want to play with the same toys. We all agreed that grabbing the toy from someone else was not the right way to solve the problem. Instead, the students recommended asking for the toy nicely. We also related this topic to our Unit of Inquiry by looking at how our actions can affect our feelings.

共有は思いやりです

同じおもちゃで遊びたい状況への対応について話し合いました。私たちは皆、他の誰かからおもちゃをつかむことは問題を解決する正しい方法ではないことに同意しました。代わりに、おもちゃをうまく頼むことを子どもたちに勧めました。また、私たちの行動が私たちの感情にどのように影響するかを調べることによって、このトピックを私たちの調査ユニットに関連付けました。

To help everyone understand this idea better, we did an exercise where two students did a role-play in front of everyone about sharing toys. One student would ask for the toy by saying, “Can I play with this?” The other student could either give the toy and say, “Here you go,” or request some patience by saying, “Can you wait, please?” We switched roles, so everyone had a chance to join in.

誰もがこのアイデアをよりよく理解できるように、2人の生徒がおもちゃを共有することについてみんなの前でロールプレイをする演習を行いました。ある生徒は、「これで遊んでもいいですか?」とおもちゃを求めます。もう一人の生徒は、おもちゃを渡して「どうぞ」と言うか、「待ってもらえますか?」と言って忍耐を求めることができます。役割が入れ替わったので、全員が参加する機会がありました。

Happy Father’s Day!

We finished our nice Father’s Day craft this week! The kids made some lovely cards as presents for their daddies! I wonder if they remembered to say “I love you, Daddy” when giving the cards?

今週は素敵な父の日のクラフトが完成しました!子供たちはお父さんへのプレゼントとして素敵なカードを作りました!彼らはカードを渡すときに「愛してる、パパ」と言うことを覚えていたのだろうか?
