It has been a short week but we’ve been very busy. We had no school on Monday so no music but we did have our swimming class on Tuesday. Since there was no class on Monday, we also did the writing practice Tuesday and Wednesday.
3連休後の短い週でしたが、忙しい1週間になりました。月曜日がお休みだったのでライティング練習は、火曜のスイミングレッスン前と、水曜日の体操教室後に行いました。

Wednesday we went to the gym. The students were very excited to have our regular gym class. We did the egg song and played tag. One of the last activities we did was a train and tunnel one. This is where some of the students make a train and the others make a tunnel, then the train has to go through the tunnel.
水曜日は体操教室がありました。スポーツフェスティバルが終了し、いつもの教室に戻ってみんな安心した様子でした。まずは、みんなの大好きなたまごちゃん体操とハチさん鬼ごっこで体を温めました。最後はロープを使って、クラスの半分のお友達が電車を作り、もう半分のお友達が作ったトンネルをくぐりました。

Thursday we walked to the park. It is so nice to be able to go again since the weather is much cooler now. They are doing a great job walking together as well. After the park we did a craft. They made acorns for their grandparents that they can put a picture on it to give to them later. The rest of the students who didn’t finish the craft got to finish it Friday.
木曜日は歩いて公園に行きました。日中は過ごしやすい気候になり、また公園での活動が始まって、とてもうれしく思います。公園までの道のり、手をつないで歩くのも慣れたものです。公園から戻ってからはクラフトをしました。一週遅れですが、「敬老の日」のプレゼントとして、どんぐりの形をしたフォトフレームを製作しました。もこもこのボールをボンドで付けたり、貼れる布シートをはさみで切って付けたりなどして、素敵なフォトフレームが出来上がりました！木曜日に出来なかったお友達は、金曜日にクラフトをしました。

This week we have started doing our summative assessments. This is where we assess the students to see if they have understood the IB curriculum for this unit. Not only is it for the students but its also for the teachers to see how well we have taught the unit and if there is anything we can improve for next time. The activity they are doing for the assessment is a matching one. They have to match the pictures to where the item needs to go. For example; there is a picture of a PET bottle on the paper and the students have to draw a line to the correct box it goes in. There are many different items on the page as well.
今週から総括的評価が始まりました。現在学習しているユニットについて、子供たちがきちんと理解しているかを評価します。子ども達の為だけではなく、私たち先生にとっても子ども達が十分に理解できるようレッスンが出来たのか、また次回への改善点を見つける為のものでもあります。今回の総括的評価は、ゴミの仕分けについてのワークシートを行っています。子ども達は、ゴミの写真とそのゴミが入れられる箱を線でつなぎます。例えば、ペットボトルの写真を見て、それがどの箱に入れられるかを判断します。その他にもいくつかのゴミの写真を見て判断しました。
