Hi, everyone!
This week, we started our line of inquiry 2, where we discussed the characteristics of transportation. We chose some vehicles from land, sky, and sea and identified each characteristic, such as which is bigger, faster, louder, and longer. Our youngsters also shared which vehicle they want to use as their mode of transport and the reason why. Our discussions are now getting deeper, as most of our littles are more confident now in sharing their ideas in class. Keep it up, Canyon!
みなさん、こんにちは！
今週から、探究の流れ２「乗り物の特徴」について話し合いを始めました。陸、空、海からいくつかの乗り物を選び、どれが大きいか、速いか、音が大きいか、長いかなど、それぞれの特徴をみんなで確認しました。また、移動手段として、どの乗り物を自分たちが使いたいか、どうしてその乗り物を選んだのかも発表してもらいました。理由について、「その乗り物に家族と乗ったことがあるから」、「その乗り物は大きいから」、「その乗り物が好きだから」など、自分たちの知っている英語を一生懸命使って、クラスのみんなに自分の考えを発表することができました。話し合いで手をあげて、自分の考えを発表することにみんな自信が持てるようになってきました！

As part of our unit of inquiry, our young ones had a chance to get on the train going to another train station. It was a great experience to gain a deeper understanding of the lesson. We saw different kinds of trains and vehicles while we were on our way and determined whether they were fast or slow, long or short, and their colors. They were so happy and excited about our trip.

今週、Canyonさん達はフィールドトリップに出かけ、実際に電車に乗る体験をしました！事前に、電車に乗る際の注意事項を話し合ったので、列になって歩いて移動し、電車の中でも小さな声で会話をすることが出来ました。1駅だけの旅でしたが、松本駅では15分ほど停車している電車の中で過ごし、窓から見える他の電車をたくさん見つけることが出来て、一生懸命電車の名前や色を他の子たちに伝えていました。下車した駅から公園に向かう道中や、公園からも電車を何本か見ることができて、速いか遅いか、長いか短いか、色々な色の電車があることなども発見しました。みんなで電車に乗るという貴重な体験が出来て、とても楽しい旅になりました！
Our class is full of hearts! As we celebrate Valentine’s Day, our youngsters made cards full of love for their loved ones. They cut out big heart-shaped pieces of paper, decorated them with colorful hearts, and then wrote Valentine’s Day messages inside. Hope you like it!
This craft aims to train our students further in using scissors and to recognize and trace letters properly.
Canyonクラスはハートでいっぱいです！バレンタインデーを前に、子どもたちは大切な人への愛情いっぱいのカードを作りました。大きなハート型の紙を切り抜き、カラフルなハートスタンプでデコレーションをし、中にバレンタインデーのメッセージを書きました。気に入っていただけると嬉しいです。
この製作で、ハサミを上手に使うこと、文字を正しく認識しなぞるスキルを磨きました。
Our monthly drill was held on our campus this week. We had a fire drill, and the students learned the rules to follow when there’s a fire, which are as follows:
O, HA, SHI, MO, TE
– Do not push your friends.
– Do not run.
– Do not talk.
– Do not come back.
– Cover your mouth.
今週は火災を想定した、月例の避難訓練が行われました。今回は事前に子どもたちに訓練があることを伝えなかったにもかかわらず、非常ベルが鳴るとみんなすばやくテーブルの下に潜りました。地震ではなく火事だということを伝えると、静かに並んで先生の後に続いて避難をすることが出来ました。毎月行っている訓練のおかげで、何をするべきか、落ち着いて行動することが出来るようになりました。Good job！
