Hello everyone, and welcome to the very first blog entry from the Grade 3, 4, and 5 class! We will be using this blog to share highlights from our week. This week was all about getting used to our new environment, making connections, and starting our routines. Here’s what we’ve been up to!
First Bus Ride to School
The energy on the bus was amazing as students arrived for their very first day of school. Everyone was excited, chatting happily, and full of anticipation for the day ahead. It was a fun and joyful way to begin the school year.

First Day of School
Our first day was full of activity and introductions. We welcomed some new students into our class, and each person introduced themselves by sharing one interesting fact. It was a great way to learn a little more about one another. Later in the day, we had a school-wide assembly where we went over important school policies and expectations. We also took a tour of the school building and outdoor areas to help everyone feel confident in their surroundings. We reviewed our new schedules together, and to top it all off, we had an extra-long morning recess to celebrate the start of a great year.

Lunch
We head upstairs to eat lunch with the Grade 1 class every day. It’s been such a lovely way to connect with students from the other grade. The room is always filled with friendly conversations, laughter, and a feeling of togetherness. It’s been wonderful to see everyone getting along so well and enjoying this shared time.

Essential Agreements
To help create a respectful and caring classroom environment, we worked together to create our essential agreements. Each student first spent some quiet time writing down as many ideas as they could think of for agreements that would help our class run smoothly. We then shared and combined all our ideas into one big list, ending with 26 thoughtful suggestions. After that, we discussed and narrowed the list to 12 final agreements representing everyone’s voice. Each student chose one of those agreements and made a colorful poster to help us remember and celebrate our shared values.
Classroom Signs
One of our teamwork activities this week was creating classroom banners. Each grade worked together to decide on a banner design and delegate tasks fairly. It was great to see students collaborating, sharing ideas, and supporting one another to complete something creative and meaningful for our shared space.

Park
Just a short walk from the school is a beautiful park, and we had the chance to visit it this week. Everyone had a fantastic time exploring, playing, and enjoying the fresh air. One of the most popular attractions was the Tarzan rope—a big hit! The freedom to run around and have fun in nature made this one of the highlights of our week.
