SUMMERTIME!- Rainforest June 30th-July 4th – International School of Nagano

Hi everyone!

It’s summertime! It’s time for the most awaited season of the year, during which we can enjoy playing in the water. It was our first time playing in the outdoor pool, so everyone was very happy and excited!

皆さん、こんにちは！

夏がやってきました！Rainforestさん達は、今年初のプール遊びを楽しみました。プールの中をワニのように歩いたり、お友達と魚釣りをしたりして、汗を流しました。

We are finally done with our unit of inquiry 1! To show appreciation for our little ones’ hard work throughout the unit, we gave them a certificate for being principled and demonstrating a commitment to doing what is right by following the rules of recycling. Wonderful job, Rainforest!

今週でリサイクルに関するユニット１の探究が終了しました。このユニットを通して、リサイクルのルールを守り、正しいことをするという信念を示した子どもたちに、一人ずつ賞状を渡しました。自分たちがルールを守るだけでなく、お家の方やスクールのお友達にも学んだ事を共有できた子ども達を、誇りに思います。

PLANT UNIT

In this week’s plant lesson, we reviewed the parts of the plants and then discussed their functions. It was good to hear some ideas from our young ones, such as leaves being the plant’s umbrella and protection, roots providing water to other parts of the plant, flowers giving food to humans and insects, and stems holding the plant up so it does not fall down. Great ideas! We also learned about pollination and how bees and other insects help to pollinate. For our activity, we answered a booklet about what the parts of the plant do.

今週の植物に関する探究では、植物の各部分について復習した後、それぞれの機能について話し合いました。例えば、葉は植物の傘であり植物を守る役割であること、根は植物の他の部分に水を供給する役割、花は人間や昆虫に食物を与える役割、茎は植物が倒れないように支えることなどです。子ども達はSavannaクラスで学んだ、ミツバチやその他の昆虫が植物の受粉をどのように助けているかもよく覚えていて、ビデオを見ると自分たちの知っていることをたくさんシェアしてくれました。話し合いの後、植物の各部分がどのような働きをしているかについて小冊子を作成しました。

The Rainforest class had so much fun doing various exercises with their parents on our Gym Open Day! To all the parents who came, thank you very much for your presence. We were pleased that you all enjoyed this precious moment with our youngsters!

子ども達は、ジム参観で大好きなお父さん、お母さんと様々なエクササイズを楽しみました！ご来場いただいた保護者の皆様、本当にありがとうございました。子ども達との貴重な時間を楽しんでいただけたようで、とても嬉しく思います！今日行ったエクササイズをご家庭でも行って、お子さんとのスキンシップを楽しんでください！
