Greetings to everyone! On Monday everyone gathered in the music room to celebrate the birthdays of those born in July. Ms. Chifumi was in charge this month and she made sure everyone had fun! A very happy 6th birthday to our Milky Way girls. 🥳🥰

みなさん、こんにちは！今週の始めにはISN全生徒が音楽室に集まって、7月生まれの子どもたちの誕生日を祝いました。今月はMs. Chifumiが、みんなが楽しく過ごせるように楽しいパーティーを開いてくれました！ミルキーウェイのみなさん、6歳のお誕生日おめでとう🥳🥰

For the phonics lessons they learned the “ie” and “igh” vowel teams. They played a game called musical chair. For the first round the person who was left without anywhere to sit had to read a word shown to them by the teacher. For the second round two people had to team up to read a selected word and then make a sentence using that word.

フォニックスの授業では、「ie」と「igh」の長母音チームを学習しました。単語はTie Pie Field Cookie Dried、High、Light, Nightなどです。楽しく単語を学ぶため、椅子取りゲームをしました。最初のラウンドでは、座る場所がなくなった人が先生が示した単語を読みます。次のラウンドでは、2人がチームを組んで選ばれた単語を読み、その単語を使った文を作ります。みんなが新しい単語を使って文章を作れるようになればいいなと思っています！がんばれミルキーウェイ！

For this week’s UOI, we further explored the concept of teamwork by doing team building challenges. Trying to balance a ball using woolen string and trying to build a tall tower using spaghetti. Through both of these challenges, the students found out that listening to others’ ideas is a big determinant of whether a team succeeds or fails in whatever they set out to do.

今週のUOIでは、チームビルディングの課題を通して、チームワークの概念をさらに深く探究しました。リングに結ばれたひもを使ってみんなでボールをバランスよく乗せたまま持ち上げるチャレンジと、スパゲッティとマシュマロを使って高いタワーを作るチャレンジです。これらの課題を通して、生徒たちは、チームが一丸となって目標を達成するには、他者のアイデアに耳を傾けることが、成功か失敗かの大きな決め手となることを学びました。
