This week the students were hard at work practicing for their Sports Festival performance. We got to practice at the gym and then whatever time we had, we practiced at the campus.
今週ミルキーウェイのみんなは、秋に行われるスポーツフェスティバルに向けて一生懸命練習をしました！週に一度しかないジムでの練習のチャンスを活かし、体全体を使って演技の練習をしました。もちろん園での練習も楽しんでいます🎶
They watched a basketball game clip and shared their thoughts about what they saw . “The team’s goal is to score as many baskets as they can in order to win.” “They need to be careful not to pass the ball to someone who is not on their team otherwise they might lose,” were some of the comments they made. The key takeaway was that roles in a team are determined by the type of team and the task that is set before them.From this discussion they also figured out that a team is a group of people who work together to achieve a shared goal and so their definition of the word team broadened from when they initially started Unit 2.
UOIでは、バスケットボールの試合のクリップを見て、その内容についてディスカッションしました。「チームの目標は、勝つためにできるだけ多くの得点を取ること」「チームメイト以外にパスをしないように注意しないと負けてしまう」といった事前知識をシェアしてくれるお友達もいました。チーム内の役割は、チームのタイプと課題によって決まるという点が重要なポイントです。この議論を通して、生徒たちはチームとは共通の目標を達成するために協力し合う人々の集まりであることを少しずつ理解し、ユニット2を始めた当初と比べて「チーム」という言葉の定義が広がりつつあります。
Related to phonics, we moved on to diagraphs this week. They learned about the “sh” and “ch” sounds.
フォニックスでは、ダイアグラフ（二重音字）「sh」と「ch」の音について学びました。
To connect to the phonics lesson, they read “Chase and Chet” for their reading lesson. The book has many words that contain “ch” diagraph words. If your time permits, please read with them at home.

After the obon holiday, we will focus on preparing for the Sports Festival. As it is one of the biggest events of the year and their last one at preschool, we are dedicated to making it one to remember, so the majority of our time will be dedicated to this. Regarding the inquiry into teamwork, we will wrap up the inquiry of roles in a team and then move on to the second line of inquiry;” a good team resolves conflicts.”

お盆休みが終わったら、スポフェスの準備に集中します。スポフェスはISNの最大イベントの一つで、ミルキーウェイさんにとって最後の行事でもあるので、思い出に残るイベントにするためにみんなで頑張って練習をします。チームワークについての探究については、チーム内の役割についての探究を終え、次の探究「良いチームは対立を解決することができる」へと進みます。
