Hello everyone!Everybody came back from the summer break refreshed and rearing to go.
We revised what we have talked about since we began the topic of teamwork. It was a refresher course of sorts. It was great to know that the students remember and retained the information they have attained so far.
For this week’s phonics lesson they learned about the words that contain sm,st and sw diagraphs.
皆さん、こんにちは！お盆休みから笑顔で園に戻り、みんな元気いっぱいです。
今週はチームワークをテーマにした探究を始めて以来、クラスで話し合ってきた内容を復習しました。いわば復習コースです。生徒たちがこれまでに学んだことをしっかり覚えているのがわかり、とても嬉しかったです。
今週のフォニックスレッスンでは、sm、st、swの二重母音を含む単語を学びました。
We moved on to the second line of inquiry: “A good team resolves conflicts.” To assess how much they knew about conflict, they did a whispering game. The phrase got distorted along the way. The person who spoke first pointed out that what the last person said was wrong but they insisted that it was correct because that’s what they heard from the person next to them, and that they were just passing on the message. They took a few minutes talking about what might have caused the message to change . Various opinions such as, “someone didn’t speak loud enough”, “someone spoke too fast and their message wasn’t clear”, “someone didn’t listen well” , were raised and their conversation led to the word “disagreement.”
今週はLOI2「良いチームは対立を解決することができる」に移りました。対立についてどれだけ理解しているかを確かめるため、伝言ゲームを行いました。すると、途中で文章が変わってしまいました。最初に伝言をした人が最後に伝言した人の文章が間違っていると指摘しましたが、その人は隣の人から聞いたのでその文章は正しいと主張し、ただメッセージを伝えただけだと主張しました。みんなで、メッセージが変わった原因について少し話し合いました。「誰かが声量が足りなかった」「誰かが早口で話しすぎてメッセージが伝わらなかった」「誰かがよく聞いていなかった」など、様々な意見が出され、会話は「意見の不一致」という言葉に繋がりました。
They then watched a role play where 2 people wanted to use the same toy and they wouldn’t compromise no matter how much they communicated. Words such as, “arguing”, “fighting”, “not sharing” came up in the discussion that ensued. They then talked about this and by the end of the lesson, the students who had never heard of the word conflict, got a rough idea of what the word means.
次に、2人が同じおもちゃを使いたがり、どれだけコミュニケーションを取ってもお互い妥協しないというロールプレイを見ました。その後のクラスディスカッションでは、「言い争い」「喧嘩」「共有しない」といった言葉が飛び出しました。その後、みんなはこれらの言葉についてもっと話し合い、レッスンの終わりには、コンフリクトという言葉を聞いたことのなかった生徒たちも、その言葉の意味を大まかに理解することができました👏
As part of deepening their understanding of the concept of teamwork, they did a snail craft in groups of 3. They had to try to emulate a craft displayed before them within a set amount of time.
チームワークの概念への理解を深める一環として、生徒たちは3人1組でカタツムリの工作に取り組みました。決められた時間内に、目の前に展示された工作を全てのアイテムを使い真似しなければなりません。
Some groups experienced conflict while working together on their craft. They said they conflict arose when one of their team mate wanted to decorate the snail’s face. They then concluded that not listening properly to instructions and to others can cause conflict. That listening and good communication skills are essential to avoiding conflict.
いくつかのグループは、一緒に工作に取り組む中で対立を経験したようです。チームメイトの一人がカタツムリの顔に絵を描きたいと言った時に意見の衝突が生じました。クラフトが終わり、話し合いの中で、指示や他人の話をきちんと聞かないことが衝突の原因になるという結論に至りました。対立や衝突を避けるには、聞く力と良好なコミュニケーション能力が不可欠であるということです。
We wrapped up our week by enjoying a soccer practice session conducted by two men who work for Yamaga soccer sports club. The learners could connect what they did to what they are currently learning about team work. They were separated into 2 teams, daifuku mochi team and parsley team. Their goal was to work together, to help each other to kick the ball into the goal post. They all had fun!
山雅サッカースポーツクラブで子どもたちにサッカーを教えているコーチ2人がサッカーを教えてくれました。このイベントが今週の締めくくりとなりました。生徒たちは、このレッスンで学んだことを、現在学んでいるチームワークと結びつけることができました。大福餅（白）チームとパセリ（緑）チームの2つのチームに分かれ、互いに助け合いながらボールをゴールに入れるという目標を掲げました。皆、とても楽しんでいました！

As the Sports Festival event draws nearer and nearer with each passing day, our time next week will be dedicated to practicing hard for the big day. Everyone is excited about next week’s afternoon circle open day. We look forward to your attendance !
