Hello everyone! みなさんこんにちは！

This week was dedicated to making sure every single member of the Milky way team was prepared for the Sports Festival event! In the middle of our inquiry of Unit 2, the students came to an agreement that their goal is to , “make their parents proud through the way they perform and participate in the games and races.” Everyone has worked really hard to contribute to the realization of this goal. Their characters/personalities were molded by all the practice sessions we have had in the course of the past few weeks. Their very last Sports Festival as preschoolers has helped them build their characters through perseverance.(Pictures of the event will be uploaded in next week’s blog).

今週は、ミルキーウェイチームの全員が運動会に向けての練習に専念しました！ユニット2の探究活動の中で、生徒たちは「お父さんお母さんが、自分たちのレース、リレー、パフォーマンスを見て、誇りに思ってもらう」という目標を立てました。全員がこの目標達成のために、本当に一生懸命に取り組んでくれました。ここ数週間の練習を通して、彼らの個性や人格がより一層しっかりと形成されてきたように見えました。園児として最後の運動会は、「根気強さや頑張り」がみんなの人格形成に大きく貢献したように思えます。（運動会の写真は来週のブログに掲載します。）

For this week’s phonics lesson they learned about the “sp” and “sn”diagraphs.

今週のフォニックスレッスンでは、「sp」と「sn」のダイアグラムについて学びました。

They played hopscotch and had to read the word that was placed in the box they jumped into. Everyone polished up their listening skills as they had to listen intently to their classmates reading every single word. Once everyone could read one set of cards correctly, we replaced them with a new set.

ケンケンパをしながら、飛び込んだ箱の中に入っている単語を読みました。クラスのお友達が一語一語読むのを真剣に聞きながら、リスニング力も磨きました。全員が1セットのカードを正しく読めるようになったら、新しいセットに移りました。

For this week’s show and tell we enjoyed listening to a presentation of minion themed key holder crafts and an anime drawing.

今週のショーアンドテルでは、ミニオンの手作りキーホルダーとアニメの絵が描かれた塗り絵のプレゼンテーションを楽しみました。

With the completion of one of the biggest events of the school year, we will redirect our focus onto UOI. We will talk about problem solving and the steps needed to achieve goals. A combination of the second and third lines of inquiry.
