The Savanna Class has been inquiring into different types of living things, and one of the areas they are excited to explore is insects! To spark their curiosity, we set up a special corner in the classroom where children can freely create their own insects using various shapes and materials.
Through this activity, they express their creativity, practice combining shapes with intention, and develop their fine-motor skills—especially proper scissor handling. Starting next week, we will dive deeper into different kinds of insects and explore their life cycles. This will help the children appreciate the importance of insects in our world and understand how all living things grow, change, and play a role in the environment.
サバンナクラスでは、さまざまな生き物について探究してきましたが、その中でも子ども達が特にワクワクしているのが 昆虫 です！
そこで好奇心を刺激するために、教室の一角に特別コーナーを設け、子どもたちが自由に形や素材を使って「自分だけの昆虫」を作れるようにしています。この活動を通して、子どもたちは創造力を発揮し、形を意図的に組み合わせる練習をし、さらに（特にハサミの正しい使い方など）細かい指先の動きを育んでいます。
来週からは、さまざまな種類の昆虫についてさらに深く学び、その「成長のサイクル（ライフサイクル）」も探っていきます。
これにより、子どもたちは昆虫が世界でどんな役割を果たしているのかを知り、すべての生き物が成長し、変化し、環境の中でそれぞれ大切な役割を持っていることを理解できるようになります。
Our little readers have begun reading their very first book! At first, many felt nervous—reading a whole book filled with words, sentences, and stories seemed challenging. But once they tried, they realized that reading can be fun and much easier than they imagined.
そして今週、初めての本読みに挑戦しました！
１つ１つの単語を指で追いながら、声に出して読み進めます。最初は、不安に感じる子も多く、言葉や文、ストーリーがぎっしりつまった「一冊の本」を読むことは難しそうに見えました。でも、実際に読んでみると――
読書は楽しくて、思っていたよりずっと簡単！ということに気づくことができました。
One student even said, “We can use our imagination when we read!”
They will be bringing this book home, and we hope you enjoy watching and listening to your child read with confidence and joy.

Our preparation for the Winter Show has begun; this week, we worked on the Christmas tree we will be using for our play! We are all excited to show our play to everyone!
