見て触れられる物語を作ろう！（ジオラマ）
Hi everyone! Since MW was closed last Thursday and Friday due to influenza we decided to combine last week’s blog with this week’s. The past two weeks were filled with hands on adventures that turned learning into pure fun! The main focus these past two weeks was dioramas. We defined a diorama as a story that you can look at made with small things you build and put in a box. It is like a little world inside a box.
皆さん、こんにちは！先週の木曜日と金曜日はMWクラスがお休みだったため、先週のブログと今週のブログを統合することにしました。この2週間は、学ぶことが楽しい体験へと変わる、製作メインの楽しい冒険でした！この2週間のフォーカスはジオラマでした。ジオラマとは、「小さなものを組み立てて箱の中に詰め込み、見て触って楽しめる物語」だと学びました。まるで箱の中に小さな世界があるかのようです。
They started off by planning how they would make their individual dioramas with the guidance of the two worksheets below.
まず、以下の 2 つのワークシートを参考に、自分たちのオリジナルジオラマを計画しました。
Over the course of the past two weeks, everyone has been working on their dioramas. Creating backgrounds and making the characters and the objects they will use to tell their stories.
この2週間、みんなジオラマ制作に取り組んできました。背景を作り、物語を語るキャラクターや小物を制作しました。
They also learned how to tell stories using materials from the natural environment; leaves and sticks! This activity let their creativity shine brighter than ever. Their imaginations took the lead and the results were amazing!
子どもたちは、自然環境にある素材、例えば葉っぱや小枝を使って物語を語る方法も学びました！このアクティビティを通して、子どもたちの創造性がより磨かれました。そして子ども達の想像力もどんどん見られるようになり、素晴な作品がたくさんできましたよ！
As part of our Christmas show preparations, we made a Christmas craft that will be used to decorate the foyer of the venue. The children practiced their fine motor skills by doing accordion folds on the “Christmas tree branches” and by making stars using origami. There were many steps to follow, and making sure the corners of the origami matched was quite challenging, but they all created beautiful stars! Their Christmas trees are displayed in the hallway close to MW class so please take a look when you pass by.
クリスマスショーの準備の一環として、会場のホワイエを飾るクリスマスクラフトを作りました。子どもたちは、クリスマスツリーの枝をアコーディオン折りにしたり、折り紙で星を作ったりして、微細運動能力を鍛えました。手順が多く、折り紙の角を合わせるのに苦労しましたが、みんな素敵な星を作ることができました！クリスマスツリーはMW教室近くの廊下に飾られていますので、お通りの際はぜひご覧ください。この星は大人も作るのに少し手こずるものですが、クラス全員が一生懸命練習して作り上げたこのツリーはとてもスペシャルなものとなりました✨そして星を綺麗に作ることができた時に見せてくれた笑顔はプライスレスでした🥰
With the Christmas show drawing closer each day, we are realizing the importance of reflecting and striving to do better than before. The children watched a video of themselves performing their play and then commented on the areas they think they can improve.
クリスマスショーが日に日に近づくにつれ、私たちは振り返り、以前よりも良いパフォーマンスをするために努力することの大切さを実感しています。子どもたちは、自分たちの劇のビデオを見て、改善できる点について考え、一人ひとり発表しました。
~The week ahead~
Next week we will have a mini Christmas show where all classes will be able to watch their peers performing their plays. We will also continue making our dioramas, and If there is still time left before the Christmas show, we will talk about other ways of telling stories as we wrap up LOI3.
