What a talented bunch of children! Canyon has been getting so good at remembering their lines for the play, and the dance choreography too. How do you feel? “It’s fun!” Canyon said. Missteps and mistakes included but they are all part of getting ready for the show… try again! Canyon has been learning to be good Communicators, one of the IB learner profiles. As good inquirers, we ask how we can be express ourselves. On stage, we need big voices, big actions, and big smiles! Canyon helped prepare the props for the show. “I like painting… dark green and light green!” Thank you for helping.

今週も劇の練習を頑張りました。キャニオンさん達のとっても高いポテンシャルには驚かされてばかりです！劇の台詞を覚え、ダンスの振り付けも完璧です。どう感じてる？と先生が聞くと「楽しいよ！」とみんな言ってくれます！つまずきやミスはまだまだありますが、それも本番に向けた準備の一部…もう一度挑戦しよう！という気持ちで頑張ります。IB学習者像の一つである「優れたコミュニケーション能力」を、この劇の練習を通して学んでいます。探究者として、私たちは「どう表現するか」を考えます。舞台では大きな声、大きな動き、そして大きな笑顔が必要！舞台小道具の準備も子ども達が手伝ってくれました。「絵を描くのが好き…濃い緑と薄い緑！」手伝ってくれてありがとう。

We express ourselves through our writings and drawings too. Drawing faces, writing numbers and words are what Canyon has been doing. Well-done! Conversations, learning and inquiries arise from children’s work. In Canyon, the teachers ask them about their work. Work is play for children! What are you drawing, writing? What did you make? “This is Brother kissing. This is me, happy. He loves me!… This is ISN… This is my name” Canyon feels so proud of their work. They often request… “please take a picture”!

子ども達は文章や絵でも自分を表現しています。お友だちの顔を描いたり、数字や文字を書いたりするのがキャニオンの子どもたちの日常です。子どもたちの作品から会話や学び、探究が生まれます。クラスで誰かが何かを描くと、キャニオンでは先生が作品について子どもに質問をします。子どもにとって遊びは仕事です。何を描いているの？何を書いているの？何を作ったの？あるお友だちがこう教えてくれました！”This is Brother kissing. This is me, happy. He loves me!… This is ISN… This is my name” キャニオンさん達は自分の作品にとても誇りを感じていて、頻繁にこう頼みます…「写真を撮って！」

GYM

Canyon did their stretches and warmed up for some rolling on the mat. The gym coach demonstrated and Canyon were able to follow the instructions. They had a rolling good time!

今週のジムレッスンでは、十分にストレッチをして体を温めることから始めました。マット運動では、正しい前転の仕方を教わりました。注意深くMs Airiのお話を聞き、順番に挑戦しました！
