１年で最も寒い時期になりましたね、始めは「寒いね〜」と言いながら外遊びをする子ども達ですが、走り回り、部屋に戻る頃には「暑いね〜」と話すパワフルな子ども達です。
It’s the coldest time of the year, and at first the children are playing outside saying, “It’s cold,” but by the time they run around and return to their rooms, they’re powerful and say, “It’s hot.”
月曜日は１月生まれのお友達の誕生日会がありました。 レインボーからはM君・R君が３歳になります。 お友達の前で名前と年齢を発表しましたが、とても緊張している様子でした。 その後、誕生月のお友達が「福笑い」をし、「ひょっとこ」と「おふく」を作りました。 目隠しをして２人も挑戦！個性豊かなひょっとことおたふくが完成しました。
On Monday, we had a birthday party for friends born in January. From Rainbow, M and R turned three years old. They announced their names and ages in front of their friends, but they seemed very nervous. Afterwards, their friends in their birthday month played “Fukuwarai” (lucky laughing game) and made “Hyottoko” and “Otafuku”. Both of them tried it blindfolded! They created very unique Hyottoko and Otafuku dolls.
火曜日は新聞紙を破って丸め、節分に使う「豆づくり」をしました。破くのも丸めるも始めは「できない〜」、「やって」と言いますが、できるお友達が手本を見せ、協力しながら丸めました。 「鬼は外〜福は内〜」と掛け声の練習です！練習をしていると、、さゆり先生鬼が登場、始めは後ずさりした子ども達で早速、掛け声と豆まきで退治しました。来月は節分です、心の準備はできたかな？
On Tuesday, the children tore up newspaper and rolled it up to make beans for Setsubun. At first, the children said, “I can’t do it!” and “Please do it!”, but their friends who could do it showed them how, and they all worked together to roll the beans. They practiced chanting, “Oni wa soto, fuku wa uchi!” (Demons out, good fortune in)! While they were practicing, Ms. Sayuri showed up as a demon. The children backed away at first but quickly defeated him with chants and bean throwing. Setsubun is next month, so are you ready?
今年初めての雪遊びをしました。着替中からワクワクする子ども達、「○○はこの色だよ」、「〇〇はパパが用事してくれたんだよ」と子ども達の会話も弾みます。外に出て花壇の端に積もった雪を集めました。
This was the first time we had snow fun this year. The children were excited as they exchanged snow wears, chatting away with each other, “XX is this color,” “My Dad bought it for me,” and so on. We went outside and collected the snow that had piled up on the edge of the flower garden.
金曜日は不審者目撃を想定した避難訓練をしました。保育者の声を聞き集まり息をひそめました。身を守る合言葉「いかのおすし」の話を真剣に聞きしました。
On Friday, we had an evacuation drill in case a stranger person was spotted. We all gathered together and held our breath, listening to the voices of the teachers. They all listened attentively to the rules for self-protection, “Ika no Sushi.”
午後のサークルタイムでは「数字」、「英語のスペル」をクイズ形式で学び、正解すると拳を掲げて喜び合う子ども達です。また♪ Littlesnowflake♪の曲も歌っています、ご家庭でも曲を流してみてはいかがでしょうか(^^)
During afternoon circle time, the children learn “numbers” and “English spelling”in the form of quizzes, and when they answer correctly, the children raise their fists and rejoice. We also sing the song ♪Littlesnowflake♪, so why not play the song at home (^^)
他にもテーブルごとグループ名を決めてグループ活動を行い、おやつや給食の挨拶も子ども達が進行し、進級にむけ準備をしています。
In addition, each table is assigned a group name, and they lead class activities, and the children also take charge of greetings during snacks and lunch, preparing to move up to the next grade.

・The children are working with the mindset of “I want to do things for myself” and “I can do it myself.”. Please write their name on all of their belongings, including chopsticks and toothbrush bags.
