Welcome to our first blog of March! As our days together become fewer, we have been receiving invitations for playdates from our little sisters and brothers. This week, Aurora came to visit and played the musical chair and a “whistle blows” counting game with us. The children listened carefully to the number of whistle blows and then held hands in groups to match that number. Everyone had so much fun!Aurora also sang a song for the Milky Way class, telling them how much they love them. It was truly a special day.

一緒に過ごせる日も少しずつ少なくなってきていますが、最近は年少さん、年中さんのお友だちからプレイデートのお誘いをもらうことが増えてきました。

今週はAuroraクラスが遊びに来てくれ、一緒に椅子取りゲームや笛の回数を数え、グループを作るゲームを楽しみました。子どもたちは笛の音の回数をよく聞き、その数に合わせて手をつないでグループを作りました。みんなとても楽しんでいました！

また、Auroraクラスのお友だちがMilky Wayクラスに向けて歌を披露して、「大好きだよ」という気持ちを伝えてくれました。とても心温まる、特別な一日となりました。

For our phonics lesson, we were introduced to the “kn” blend. The students added ,”knife,knee,knot,knight, kneel,know and knowledge” to their vocabulary bank.

Last Friday, we started our final big craft as Milky Way students. We have been making this craft since Nursery, but doing it for the last time at ISN made it extra special. It had many steps and needed careful thinking and good fine motor skills. The craft is for Hinamatsuri, or Girl’s Day, which is celebrated on March 3rd. On this day, families in Japan celebrate girls and wish for them to grow up healthy and happy. They display beautiful hina dolls dressed like an emperor and empress from long ago. The dolls wear colorful kimonos and sit on a red carpet with other small royal figures.Some families enjoy special treats, and the colors pink, white, and green are important for this holiday. Hinamatsuri is a joyful celebration filled with love and beautiful decorations.🌸

先週の金曜日、Milky Wayの子どもたちとして最後となるクラフト制作を始めました。ナーサリーの頃から毎年作ってきた制作ですが、ISNで最後に取り組む今回の制作は、子どもたちにとって特別なものとなりました。工程が多く、よく考えながら丁寧に手先を使うことが必要な活動でした。時間がかかりましたが、全員が諦めずに、先生の助けを借りながら、最後まで自分で頑張りました！

この制作は、3月3日にお祝いする「ひな祭り」にちなんだものです。ひな祭りは、日本で女の子の健やかな成長と幸せを願ってお祝いする行事です。この日には、昔の天皇と皇后の姿をした美しいひな人形を飾ります。色とりどりの着物を着た人形が、赤い布の上に並び、まわりにはさまざまな宮中の人形も飾られます。金の屏風も象徴的です。

また、ピンク・白・緑の色がひな祭りを象徴する色とされています。雛霰の色の由来も学びました。
ひな祭りは、愛情と美しい飾りにあふれた、楽しいお祝いの日です。🌸

With only a few days left until graduation day, it’s not an exaggeration to say that different kinds of emotions are swirling all around us;mostly joy and anticipation. We are excited about what lies ahead and happy to enjoy one last special event with our classmates. Our first rehearsal was a big eye-opener. It was great for everyone to see how they will move on stage and understand how important their voices will be during the event. Over the next few days, we will focus on the main areas that need improvement and hope to close this preschool chapter with elegance and style, shining like the true gems we are.

卒園の日まで残りわずかとなり、私たちのまわりにはさまざまな気持ちがあふれています。特に、「喜び」とこれからへの「期待」が大きいです。これから待っている新しい一歩にワクワクしながら、クラスのお友だちと最後の特別な行事を迎えられることを嬉しく思っています。

最初のリハーサルは、子どもたちにとって多くの気づきがある時間となりました。ステージ上でどのように動くのかを実際に確認し、卒園式では自分たちの声がとても大切な役割を持つことも実感することができました。

これから数日間は、さらに良くしていくためのポイントに焦点を当てながら練習を重ね、輝く宝石のような子どもたちらしく、素敵な形でこのプリスクールでの章を締めくくることができればと思います。
