Waterfall students learned about the story of Hinamatsuri at the end of last week. Then, they made origami kimonos for their beautiful Hina Dolls, and put the dolls on display!
先週の終わりに、Waterfallクラスの子どもたちはひな祭りについて学びました！雛飾りは「Wedding ceremony」で「Prince」と「Princess」なんだよ、という話をするとGirlたちの目はキラキラ・・・！美しいひな人形のために折り紙で着物を作り、キャンパスにおだいりさまとおひなさまを飾りました！
As we wrap up the last unit and, alas, this school year, students are preparing for the next step toward their futures by making new friends and saying goodbye to this year’s graduates. Rainforest welcomed Waterfall students to a morning of collaborative play and creation. They read books, made origami, played games, and drew pictures together as a memorable farewell. Waterfall will miss you, Rainforest!
このユニット、そして今年度もいよいよ終わりに近づく中で、子どもたちは次のステップに向けて、新しい友だちとの出会いや今年度の卒園児とのお別れの準備をしています。RainforestクラスがWaterfallクラスの子どもたちを招いてくれ、一緒に遊んだり制作をしたりしました。本を読んだり、折り紙をしたり、ゲームをしたり、絵を描いたり…と、思い出に残るお別れの時間となりました。WaterfallクラスはRainforestクラスのみんなをきっと恋しく思うことでしょう。
Some Waterfall students will be joining Canyon class friends in the next school year. They already enjoy excursions and playtime together, so it is time they start enjoying classes together as well! Waterfall and Canyon students collaborated and teamed up for Gym Class in their first step small towards Savannah!
来年度、Waterfallクラスの年少さんはCanyonクラスのお友達と一緒に進級します。これまでも遠足や外遊びを一緒に楽しんできましたが、これからはクラス活動も一緒に楽しむことになります。WaterfallクラスとCanyonクラスの子どもたちは体育の時間に協力し合い、Savannahクラスへ向けた小さな一歩を踏み出しました。
Unit 4 is nearly at the end of the road and students’ Show & Tell School Buses have filled up with stickers that mark their success in research and thinking skills! As a final marker of the journey, the buses have come to a stop sign, and Waterfall students can take a break from confidently presenting their knowledge of transportation. So, they made fitting displays to showcase how many stickers they earned for being knowledgeable risk-takers and inquirers!
Unit 4もいよいよ終わりに近づいています。Show & Tellで使っていたスクールバスには、調べたり考えたりした成果としてたくさんのステッカーが貼られました。学びの旅の最後のしるしとして、バスはストップサインのところで停まり、子どもたちはこれまで自信を持って発表してきた「乗り物」についての学びを振り返りました。そして、知識を深めながら挑戦するラーナー（knowledgeable risk-taker / inquirer）として集めたステッカーの数を紹介する制作もしました。
来週、また元気な笑顔に会えることを楽しみにしています。
