This week in our class was filled with excitement, laughter, and joyful celebrations as we continued our exploration through fun and meaningful experiences.
We started the week with our special birthday celebration for our April celebrators, led by Ms. Aiza. The children gathered in the music room, where the atmosphere was full of energy and happiness. Everyone had a wonderful time singing cheerful birthday song and participating in fun, engaging activities that brought smiles to every face.
The celebration was not only enjoyable but also a great opportunity for the children to practice social skills. It was heartwarming to see their enthusiasm and the way they supported other friends, making the event memorable.

今週のクラスは、楽しく有意義な体験を通して探求を続け、興奮と笑い、そして喜びに満ちた一週間となりました。
週の始まりは、アイザ先生の指導のもと、4月生まれの子どもたちの特別な誕生日のお祝いでした。子どもたちは音楽室に集まり、活気と喜びにあふれた雰囲気に包まれました。みんなで明るいバースデーソングを歌ったり、楽しくて夢中になれるアクティビティに参加したりして、素敵な時間を過ごしました。
このお祝いは、子どもたちにとって楽しいだけでなく、社会性を育む素晴らしい機会にもなりました。子どもたちの熱意と、友達を応援する姿は、とても心温まるもので、忘れられない思い出となりました。
Earthquake Evacuation Drill （地震の避難訓練）
We conducted an earthquake evacuation drill this week. When the teacher shouted, “EARTHQUAKE!”, all students immediately dropped, went under their tables, and took cover. Once the “earthquake” subsided, the Aurora students listened carefully to the teachers’ instructions, put on their hats, lined up, and prepared to evacuate outside.
All students moved calmly and quietly to the parking area. Afterward, we discussed important safety rules to remember during an earthquake. We reviewed the “O-Ha-Shi-Mo” guidelines, which stand for: no pushing, no running, keep quiet, and do not go back.
We are proud to see how much the children have grown. They are learning to think carefully and make good choices—skills that will help keep them safe in real situations.
今週、地震避難訓練を実施しました。先生が「地震だ！」と叫ぶと、生徒たちは全員すぐにしゃがみ込み、机の下に隠れて身を守りました。「地震」が収まると、オーロラ校の生徒たちは先生の指示をよく聞き、帽子をかぶり、整列して屋外への避難準備をしました。
生徒たちは全員、落ち着いて静かに駐車場へと移動しました。その後、地震発生時に覚えておくべき重要な安全ルールについて話し合いました。「おはしも」のガイドラインを確認しました。これは、「押さない」「走らない」「静かにする」「戻らない」の頭文字をとったものです。
子どもたちの成長ぶりを目の当たりにし、大変嬉しく思います。子どもたちは、慎重に考え、適切な判断を下すことを学んでいます。これは、実際の状況で身を守るために役立つスキルです。
UOI （ユニットレッスン）
We began our UOI lesson on “Myself” with a Prior Knowledge Assessment. Students were first asked to draw their faces. Afterward, they presented their drawings in front of their classmates by saying, “This is me!” while pointing to their pictures and identifying different parts of their face, such as their head, nose, and eyes. Learning about themselves in this way helps students recognize their body parts, which in turn supports better communication with their teachers. For example, they can more easily understand and respond to instructions like “wipe your mouth,” “look at my eyes,” or “blow your nose.”
UOIの「自分」に関するレッスンは、まず事前知識の確認から始めました。生徒たちはまず自分の顔を描くように指示されました。その後、クラスメートの前で自分の絵を指さしながら「これが私です！」と言い、頭、鼻、目など、顔のさまざまな部分を説明してもらいました。このように自分自身について学ぶことで、生徒は自分の体の各部分を認識できるようになり、ひいては教師とのコミュニケーションも円滑になります。例えば、「口を拭いて」「私の目を見て」「鼻をかんで」といった指示をより簡単に理解し、適切に対応できるようになります。
During free time, students had the opportunity to draw their favorite things in their drawing books. As they worked, they shared their ideas by saying phrases such as, “I like strawberries!”, “I like pudding!”, and “I like pineapple!” They eagerly talked about their preferences and were excited to share their drawings with everyone. They also showed open-mindedness by listening to others’ preferences and used their communication skills to express and consider others’ opinions.
自由時間には、生徒たちはスケッチブックに好きなものを描く機会を得ました。絵を描きながら、「イチゴが好き！」「プリンが好き！」「パイナップルが好き！」などと声に出して、自分の好きなものについて語り合いました。生徒たちは自分の好みを熱心に話し、描いた絵をみんなに見せるのを楽しみにしていました。また、他の人の好みにも耳を傾け、コミュニケーション能力を使って他者の意見を表現したり、考慮したりするなど、寛容な姿勢も示しました。
Our First Walk Hand in Hand （手をつないでの初散歩）
As the breeze grew warmer, we began taking walks outside the campus, practicing how to hold hands with friends. Their first walk together was a success, as they followed the teachers’ instructions well. Along the way, we observed signs of spring, such as butterflies, birds, newly growing leaves, and beautiful flowers. The students walked cheerfully and returned to school feeling refreshed.
そよ風が暖かくなるにつれ、私たちはキャンパスの外を散歩し始め、友達と手をつなぐ練習をしました。先生の指示にしっかり従ったので、初めての散歩は大成功でした。道中、蝶や鳥、芽吹いたばかりの葉、美しい花など、春の兆しを目にすることができました。生徒たちは楽しそうに歩き、リフレッシュした気分で学校に戻りました。
Park day （公園遊び）
Aurora students enjoyed exploring the park, where they spent time playing, laughing, and engaging with one another. As they moved around the outdoor space, they observed different insects and showed curiosity about the natural environment. They discovered ants and ladybugs, which filled them with excitement and wonder. The students were overwhelmed with joy as they carefully watched the tiny creatures and shared their discoveries with their friends. It was a joyful experience filled with learning and fun.
オーロラの生徒たちは公園を探検し、そこで遊んだり、笑ったり、友達と交流したりして楽しい時間を過ごしました。屋外スペースを歩き回る中で、生徒たちはさまざまな昆虫を観察し、自然環境への好奇心を示しました。アリやてんとう虫を発見すると、生徒たちは興奮と驚きでいっぱいになりました。小さな生き物を注意深く観察し、発見したことを友達と共有する生徒たちは、喜びで胸がいっぱいになりました。学びと楽しさに満ちた、心躍る体験でした。
