Hello Everyone!
This week in preschool was full of energy, laughter, and exciting new experiences as we embraced the beauty of the spring season!
With the warmer weather and blooming flowers, we spent lots of time playing outdoors. The children loved exploring nature, running freely, and enjoying group games in the fresh air. Spring has brought a wonderful sense of curiosity—whether it’s observing tiny insects, feeling the breeze, or simply soaking up the sunshine.

Indoor Play on a Rainy Day

RAINBOW
Monthly Theme – Colors
This week, we began our exciting new monthly theme all about colors! The children explored a variety of bright and beautiful colors through fun activities, songs, and play. We practiced identifying colors, matching objects, and talking about our favorites.

Gym Class
In gym class, everyone showed great enthusiasm and determination. We practiced balance, coordination, and teamwork through fun activities and obstacle courses. It’s been amazing to see their confidence grow as they try new movements and challenge themselves.

AURORA
IB / UOI
This week we introduced the IB approach and began building our classroom community together. The children explored what it means to be Thinkers, Caring, Principled, Open minded and Communicators, which are some of our IB Learner Profile Attributes.
First we talked about having “Classroom Helpers”, we shared ideas about having a line leader, lunch helper, and other roles in the classroom. Roles gives everyone a chance to take on leadership at the same time it will help everyone become more responsible learners.
We also worked as a group to create our “Essential Agreement”, we collectively agreed on how we should try to conduct ourselves among friends and teachers, it’s shared ownership on ideas about how to keep our classroom safe and happy for everyone.
We also learned about our School Rules through simple discussions and role-play, helping them understand how to make good choices each day.
It was a great start to developing a caring, safe and cooperative learning environment!

Dance Class – Aurora
Our dance lesson was filled with creativity and expression. The children enjoyed moving to music, learning simple routines, and expressing themselves through movement. Their joy and excitement truly lit up the room.

Swimming – Aurora
A big highlight of the week was Aurora’s very first swimming lesson! Some were a little unsure at first, but with encouragement and support, they began to feel more comfortable in the water. There were lots of smiles and proud moments as they splashed, floated, and learned basic water skills.
Music Class – Rainbow and Aurora
We also had a rhythmic music lesson where the children explored different sounds and beats. They practiced clapping patterns, listening carefully to changes in tempo and moving to rhythms using the hula hoop, they were imagining that it was a bus that they were driving, then they also played with colorful scarves. It was a fun and engaging way to build their sense of timing and coordination.

School Safety
This week, we practiced an earthquake evacuation drill to help the children learn how to stay safe. With the recent earthquake its best to be prepared and be safe. The children did a great job listening and staying calm together during the drill.
Overall, it has been a joyful and active week. We are so proud of how the children are growing, trying new things, and supporting one another. We look forward to more spring adventures next week!
Thank you for reading this week’s update! Til next time. Have a good weekend everyone!
