It has been another wonderful week filled with curiosity, creativity, and meaningful learning! Here are some highlights from our classroom adventures.
As part of our Unit of Inquiry on Small Creatures, the students reflected on how people can help and protect small creatures and their habitats. They drew one way they can care for small creatures, such as picking up rubbish, planting flowers, protecting their homes, or observing them without hurting them. This activity aimed to help students understand that even small actions can make a difference and to encourage them to take responsibility and show care for living things and the environment. Through their drawings, the students demonstrated their understanding of how they can become responsible protectors of small creatures.
こんにちは！今週も、子どもたちの好奇心や、創造力あふれる活動がたくさん見られた一週間でした😊
UOI「小さな生き物」では、小さな生き物やその住む環境を守るために、私たちに何ができるかをみんなで考えました。「ゴミを拾う」「花を植える」「生き物のお家を守る」「傷つけずに観察する」など、自分たちにできることを考え、それぞれ一つの方法を絵に描いて表現しました。「これならできそう！」と、自分の身近な行動について考える姿も見られ、子どもたちなりに生き物や自然を大切にする方法について理解を深めることができました✨小さな行動でも、生き物や環境を守ることにつながります。これからも、身近な自然に目を向けながら、責任を持って行動することの大切さを一緒に考えていきたいと思います🌱💚
Throughout our Unit of Inquiry, the students continued to show curiosity about small creatures and applied their learning beyond the classroom. During outdoor play, they eagerly observed and noticed small creatures in their surroundings, using what they had learned to understand their habitats, behaviors, and importance. They also demonstrated care by observing without hurting them and thinking about how they could protect their homes. This showed that the students were able to transfer their learning to real-life experiences and make meaningful connections with the world around them.
外遊びでは、「いた！」と小さな生き物を見つけると嬉しそうに知らせてくれたり、「どこに住んでいるのかな？」「どうやって動くのかな？」と、これまで学んだことを思い出しながらじっくり観察する姿が見られました😊また、傷つけないように優しく観察したり、「お家を壊さないようにしよう」と考えたりするなど、小さな生き物を大切にする気持ちも育っています！学んだことを実際の生活の中で生かし、身近な自然とつなげながら探究を深めている子どもたちです✨
The students enjoyed creating a special handmade gift for the upcoming Grandparents’ Day. They put care and effort into their work, using their creativity to make something meaningful for their grandparents. This activity gave the students an opportunity to express their love, appreciation, and gratitude while developing their creativity and fine motor skills. It was a lovely way for them to prepare something special for the important people in their lives.
Grandparents’ Dayに向けて、おじいちゃん・おばあちゃんへのプレゼント作りを楽しみました🎁✨（たくさんの工程があるので、来週も続きます！）子どもたちは、「喜んでくれるかな？」と想像しながら、一つひとつ心を込めて制作に取り組んでいます😊 大切な人への「ありがとう」や「大好き！」の気持ちを、自分なりに表現する素敵な機会となりました💕制作を楽しみながら、創造力や手先を使う力も育んでいます。Grandparents’ Dayに、子どもたちの気持ちが届きますように🌷✨
