This week’s workstations we spent some time being little scientists by working with color mixing activity. The children looked with glistening eyes as they experimented with the different colors to see what shades or tones they came up with. We also finished our Sports Festival crafts as we geared up for the event!
今週のワークステーションでは、サバンナ・レインフォレストの小さな科学者達が色々な色を混ぜ合わせる実験をしました！子どもたちは、６色の色を色々なバリエーションで混ぜ合わせ、さまざまな色合いやトーンを、目を輝かせながら楽しみました。また、スポフェスイベントの飾りのためのクラフトも完成させました！
This week the children continued to learn the remainder of the minibeasts and insects on our list. As we reviewed what we have discussed and learned thus far, the children were challenged to think deeper of what they are inquiring about. With time, they grow more in knowledge of why living creatures around us are essential and have a better understanding of how they grow.
今週も引き続きミニビーストについて学んでいます。7月からこれまで学んできたことを復習すると、探究内容についてますます深く考えることができます。子ども達は私たちの周りにいる大切な生き物についての知識をどんどん増やし、それらの生き物達がどう成長するのかをよく理解できるようになりました！
Over in our science area, we have sad and great news to share. We are saddened by the passing of our female beetles that died simultaneously. However, the great news is the baby snails we have been waiting for since 3 weeks ago have hatched from their eggs!! Just look at how adorable they are!! We love their tiny bodies and eyes on the stalks! Their shells grow darker and add more rings as each day passes. What an amazing way to learn how this tiny creature grows!
クラスのサイエンスエリアでは、とても良い知らせと悪い知らせがあります。とても悲しいお知らせは、2匹の雌のカブトムシにさよならをしなければならなかった事です。とても嬉しいニュースは、カタツムリが３週間前に産んだ卵が孵化した事です！30匹以上のカタツムリの赤ちゃんは、とても小さく、可愛らしく、みんな虜になっています💓小さな体もそこから突き出している触覚も本当に可愛いです。赤ちゃんカタツムリの背中の殻は毎日濃くなり、大人のカタツムリに近づいています。小さな生き物が成長するのを観察する絶好な機会です！👏👀
The children are becoming better at blending the CVC sounds and recognizing the word families. Some children needed extra help to piece together the sounds, and others who got it would help their friends. It is great to learn together!
子ども達はCVCの音をブレンドしたり、単語を認識するのが上手になってきています！数名の子どもは少し助けが必要でしたが、先にCVCの音をブレンドし終わった子ども達が助けてくれます。一緒に学べるという事はとても楽しく素晴らしい事ですね！
This week we gave children a heads-up to the changes coming in September. We will be adding a sight word challenge activity during the morning routine, as well as shifting the responsibilities of giving daily learner profile cards to their friends by themselves. This will be challenging but with time and practice, they will be able to carry out this task independently.
今週は9月から朝の会に追加する、新しいサイトワードチャレンジのアクティビティについて少し紹介しました。そして帰りの会でのIB学習者像の受け渡しを、今までは先生達の助言がありましたが、9月からは自分たちだけで行うということを告げました。今から練習をすれば、きっと自分たちでできるようになると思います！
We had our monthly drill this week and the children did well hiding under the tables and carefully exited to the outdoor area. Most of the Savannah and Rainforest children were able to understand the procedures of handling an earthquake. We saw how much they have grown in knowledge over the past 5 months!
今週は月に一度の避難訓練（地震）がありました。子ども達は慌てず速やかに机の下に隠れ、静かに外へ避難することができました。私たちのクラスは全員、避難の時の４つのルールを理解しているようです。５ヶ月前から見て、みんなとっても成長していることがわかります！
These are the things the children have been busy with this week. The children are obsessed with stencil tracing and coloring the insects and minibeasts of their choices. Making objects with blocks is also a popular activity.
今週のフリープレータイムもとっても大忙し！今クラスで流行っているのが、ステンシルなぞりと昆虫とミニビーストの塗り絵です。ブロックで色々な物を作るのも人気のアクティビティの一つです。
We also celebrated the children’s August birthday with songs and interviews. We wish them a very happy birthday!
8月の誕生日のお友達を祝いました！ハッピーバースデーの歌を歌い、インタビューもしました。素晴らしい誕生日を過ごせたかな✨
