Time for Halloween Party! (Canyon: Oct. 25-29) – 0歳から中学部までの一貫した国際教育のインターナショナルスクールオブ長野（ISN）

ハロウィーン・パーティーの時間です! (サバンナ、キャニオン：10月25日～29日)

Happy Halloween everyone!みなさん、ハッピー・ハロウィーン
Thursday was the most exciting day of this week for our boys and girls because it was our Halloween Party! We are so glad to see our students dressed up with their favorite characters. They all looked adorable with their costumes!

木曜日はハロウィンパーティーが開催されたので、今週で一番盛り上がった日でした。大好きなキャラクターに扮した子どもたちの姿を見ることができて、とても嬉しいです。みんなとても可愛かったです。

In the party, students played various games such as Bowling, Witch Hat Ring Toss, Catch the Monster, Whack a Ghost, and Shooting Game. Students had to complete each game to get a stamp from the game master. They also played a team game with their parents which was a Pumpkin Relay for both Canyon/Savanna and Rainforest students. At the end, students received a treat bag with candies for doing such a great job! Thank you so much to our beloved parents for taking time to attend our party and for your unending support!
パーティーでは、ボウリング、魔女の帽子の輪投げ、モンスターを捕まえろ、お化けを叩け、シューティングゲームなど、様々なゲームを行いました。それぞれのゲームをクリアすると、ゲームマスターからスタンプがもらえます。また、Canyon/SavannaとRainforestの子どもが参加するパンプキンリレーでは、保護者と一緒にチームゲームを行いました。最後に、子どもたちはお菓子の入ったお菓子袋をもらいました。お忙しい中、パーティーに参加してくださったご父兄の皆様、いつも応援してくださって本当にありがとうございます。

In UOI, we started with our next Line of Inquiry, LOI2: Ways to communicate with others. Students were asked a question “How do you communicate without words?” It was difficult for them to answer it, so we gave them some clues and showed pictures to help them answer the question. They answered, crying when sad, smiling when happy, stomping their feet when angry, and giving a hug to show love.
Next, we had a Communication Card sorting activity. Students had to classify whether the people in the pictures are using words or body language to communicate. They were able to tell the message shown in the pictures by just looking at them.

UOIでは、次の探究の流れであるLOI2「他者とのコミュニケーションの方法」からスタートしました。子どもたちは、”言葉を使わずにどうやってコミュニケーションをとるか?” という質問を受けました。答えるのが難しかったので、ヒントを与えたり、絵を見せたりして答えを導きました。悲しいときには泣く、嬉しいときには笑う、怒ったときには足を踏み鳴らす、愛を示すためにハグをする、などの答えが返ってきました。
次に、コミュニケーションカードの分類アクティビティを行いました。写真に写っている人が、言葉を使っているのか、ボディランゲージを使っているのかを分類しなければなりませんでした。絵を見ただけで、その絵に込められたメッセージを読み取ることができました。

Japanese sweet potatoes are in season now. Our class made a sweet potato craft on Tuesday. They crumpled a newspaper and formed it into a sweet potato shape. Then ripped small pieces of origami paper and pasted them around the sweet potato. And here’s our newly harvested sweet potatoes!

日本のさつまいもは今が旬です。私たちのクラスでは、火曜日にサツマイモのクラフトを作りました。新聞紙をくしゃくしゃにして、サツマイモの形にしました。そして、小さく切った折り紙をサツマイモの周りに貼り付けました。収穫したばかりのサツマイモです。

We also finished making our last Halloween craft which is a monster mask! They painted the paper plate with the color they wanted. To make it look like a scary monster, they stuck some shapes like circles, triangles, and horns. Students decorated it on their own and used their creativity. Well done!

また、最後のハロウィーン工作であるモンスターマスクも完成させました。紙皿に好きな色を塗っていきます。怖いモンスターに見えるように、丸や三角、角などの形を貼り付けました。子どもたちは自分たちで飾り付けをして、創造力を発揮しました。よくできましたね。

In phonics, we focused on the letter Zz as in zebra, zero, zigzag, zip, zoo, zucchini, and zebra crossing. They colored the pictures of those words and practiced writing the uppercase letter Z.

フォニックスでは、しまうま、ゼロ、ジグザグ、ジッパー、動物園、ズッキーニ、横断歩道のように、Zzという文字に注目しました。これらの単語の絵に色を塗り、大文字のZを書く練習をしました。

We went to the gym on Friday. After stretching exercises, we had jump rope activities. Students enjoyed jumping over the rope, going under and crawling, and riding on a rope train. They also pretended to be a rabbit and jumped over their teacher’s legs. They ran back and forth following different starting positions.

金曜日にジムに行きました。ストレッチをした後、縄跳びをしました。縄跳びをしたり、潜ったり、這ったり、なわとびに乗ったりして楽しみました。また、うさぎになって先生の足を飛び越えることもありました。また、スタート位置を変えて前後に走ったりもしました。

They also had fun playing inside when the weather was a little bit rainy and we moved outside when it stopped. They really enjoyed this kind of activity even if we didn’t have a chance to go to the park on Monday.

また、少し雨が降っている時は室内で遊び、雨が止んだら外に出て遊びました。月曜日に公園に行く機会がなくても、この様なかつどうをとても楽しみました。
