Hello everyone, and welcome to the new Shooting Star blog!
We spent our first week adjusting to our new class and rules, visiting the park, and beginning to learn lowercase letters.

Our park visit was a ton of fun, filled with smiles and laughter. We played games with balls and hula hoops, danced together, and even had a thrilling chase with some friendly monsters!
Essential agreements
We started the week by making our essential agreements. Essential Agreements in the IB PYP are rules made by students and teachers for how we behave in class. They help us be nice to each other, listen well, and work together. These agreements show what we value and make our class a friendly learning place.
Our outstanding students decided on all the rules that we had established for our class during our class discussion. They had some great ideas, and we agreed that we wanted our rules to be more positive and focused on what we can do instead of what we can’t do. We may add or remove rules as we go along, depending on what works best for our class. Our main agreement and motto for our class is “Do your best every day.”
To demonstrate everyone’s commitment to striving to be their best every day, they gave their handprints for the poster we will display on the wall.
This school year at Shooting Star is shaping up to be fantastic and full of excitement!
