Wrapping up our inquiry this week was exciting and a lot of fun!
The Rainforest class discovered a lot of things about plants. They were able to find out if the central idea, “Plants grow in different environments” is true; Also, they were able to learn about the structure of plants and how plants grow.
The presentation went well and in addition to the information they shared, they were asked follow-up questions by their classmates to collect more information and gain a deeper knowledge of the topic.
Our reading lesson is getting more exciting, too. This week, we read a book about different types of flowers. Our little readers are able to decode long words now like poppies, sunflower and more.
It has been raining the whole week, but we hope that the coming days will be sunny so we can enjoy our pool play and other outdoor activities!
See you all in the next blog!
This is the video of cycle of plant. If you have time, why don’t you watch it!
Student Initated Action: After inquiring about how plants grow, and looking into the life cycle of a plant. Our little inquirers were so excited to grow their own plant and see the cycle before their very own eyes. One of the desserts served during one of our lunches was watermelon, some of them got curious and decided to keep the seeds and plant them at home, some just plant them in the vacant pots in the classroom.
They were all surprised to see the fast development of the plant and see the cycle in real life. It is the class goal to keep it and see if it reaches until the last stage which is bearing fruits! We will see if they can apply what they learn and figure out how to take good care of a plant.
