Welcome back to Nagano Shooting Star blog!
This week, we looked back at how small creatures grow and made a diorama of each insect that we talked about. Each group had our own idea on how we could show how insects grow, what they eat during metamorphosis, and where they live. Little by little, we understand why we need to share the planet with these small creatures.
After making the diorama, we presented the life cycle of the insects to the class on Friday.
GYM
We rolled on the mat while holding a ball. We also learned how to pass a ball by rolling it. We practiced teamwork by passing the ball to the person next to us.
Swimming
We’re back at our swimming class after a month-long break from it. We practiced submerging our faces in the water and holding our breath then blowing bubbles. We crawled on two platforms, swam or went through two hoops, and floated in the water using a flutter board.
Music
We are back in our Music lesson after a month-long break. We started using our pianica/ melodica. We practiced playing the first two lines in our musical score of Jingle Bell.
Outside Play
It was fun playing outside this week. We could play with our younger friends in Aurora and Rainbow. We could also play with other teachers for a short time. Though it was rainy on Thursday, we still could play inside.
We also said goodbye to our friend. She joined us in August. We’ll miss her!
It was the last day of August. We sang our monthly song “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” for the last time.
Have a nice weekend, everyone!
