Hello Everyone,
As the month of November came, Shooting Star students commented that it’s almost Christmas. Everyone is looking forward for the biggest event of the year which is the Christmas Show. Little by little, we began to prepare by exploring about different types of feelings as part of our unit of inquiry and we read a couple of books for the class to choose from for our play. Guess what? Shooting Star class chose the Ali Baba Jr. And the Four Thieves story and the students decided the character that they want to play. The said story was presented again to them this week in a form of a story telling with puppets and music. Shooting Star class loved it so much and they commented that the story is funny. After the story telling, students were tasked to draw on the worksheet the end of the story based on the pictures shown.
As also part of our inquiry, students were tasked to read a picture book individually to find out the characters’ feelings. We wanted to read varieties of books from other countries that’s why we tried to use a couple of books from the Philippines. Students were amazed how Tagalog language is being spoken and they learned one nice word which is “mabait”, in English means kind. We also talked about the sequence of the story: beginning, middle, and an end. We used the story of Ali Baba Jr. and the Four Thieves pictures to identify the story sequence followed by a group task activity where students worked together to identify the beginning, middle, and an end of the story of Three Little Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, and The Gingerbread Man. Students distributed the pictures to every member of their group and tried to talked about the sequence of the story by themselves. Awesome communicators!
For our Phonics lesson, we reviewed all the word family words with short i sound. We learned through play by playing with the musical chair.
We gathered together in the Music room to celebrate the birthday of students born in October and two of them is from Shooting Star. Congratulations kiddos and thank you, Ms. Fronie for hosting the party with your cool Science experiment.
Finally, we had so much fun playing in the park and in the schoolyard. In the classroom, we enjoyed playing dress up with our friends.
Have a fantastic long weekend, everyone.
