Besides being busy practising for our Christmas play, Savanna has been decorating our class for the Christmas season too. We have also been writing messages of love in this season of joy and giving. Savanna: “I love you because you play with me and you love me. I love you because we make origami together. I love you because you are kind to me” and more!
Savanna was reminded about good hygiene and washing our hands well to keep off those nasty germs. We have been singing this song to the tune of The Wheels on the Bus… “This is the way we wash our hands (x3) This is the way we wash our hands. No more germs.” Soaping is important and so is rinsing all the soap off.
Our fabulous Christmas craft is a Christmas tree all decked with beaded streamers and a silver star! Savanna counted colourful beads for their tree decorations and threaded them one by one. Rows of 8 beads, 10 beads, and 15 beads. There were many steps to follow but Savanna listened so well to the instructions. Mistakes were made but “it’s ok. Don’t give up and try again!” Feeling proud of their achievements, Savanna shared, “I feel proud because I made this all by myself.”
We have been reading books about Christmas, singing and dancing to Christmas carols Jingle Bells and We Wish You a Merry Christmas. We also watched a heartwarming short animation “The Snowman” – an award winning British film based on Raymond Briggs picture book (animation available on Youtube). One more week to our Christmas Show… keep warm and stay healthy. Till next week, have a great weekend!
