This week, we had a “Safety Traffic Drill.” We had visitors from City Hall, and they explained the dos and don’ts when on the road, such as checking right, left, right, and observing the traffic lights. They also taught them some important rules such as always fastening the seatbelt, not letting the kids unbuckle it by themselves, holding the parent’s hand when walking on the road and even in the parking lot. When not able to hold hands, they should hold onto the family member’s clothes or other items of clothing. The kids must carry their bags by themselves so the parents can hold their hand. Our youngsters helped Canyon and Waterfall students with their training.

We also had a chance to enjoy nature as our class went on a bus trip. Everyone had fun making and decorating their own wooden clips, playing on the marshmallow dome, discovering the different types of plants, and enjoying our delicious lunch while basking in the sun.

FOOD WASTE WORKSHOP
In our unit of inquiry, we had some visitors and shared information about food waste. We learned how much food is wasted by each individual and how we can lessen it. They also studied how to recycle waste, including what we can make out of recyclable materials. For example, paper can be made into newspapers, plastic can be made into hangers, and metals can be recycled into car parts.

PLANT UNIT
Our class planted soybeans, and they are growing now. Every day, our little ones visit and water them. We made a journal so we can monitor their growth. They write in the journal what they have observed. They are amazed by the changes in our beans each day.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
