Summer is on the horizon and things are heating up! I’m already breaking out the choco mint ice cream!!!
Grade 4 had a trip to the garden center last month, each of them picked up a plant to grow. Students chose Melons, Watermelons, Passion Fruits, Strawberries, Tomatoes, Peppers, and Flowers!!!! They have been planted on the Grade 4 classroom balcony and on the school grounds! Each week we choose two plant monitors to care for all the plants! I’m confident we can all be Principled and Caring enough to care for our new garden! I hope we will be able to enjoy a delicious fruit salad one day in the future!

Students also had to practice their inquiry skills! They needed to ask the shop keepers and some ISN staff for advice on caring for and planting their plants!

Also as part of Grade 4’s summative assessment we decided to visit Grade’s 1,2 and 3 to share what we had learned about energy with them! They were keen to display how knowledgeable they had become! The students did their best to explain and came up with some fun activities to help the younger students engage with the concepts of the different types of energy that Grade 4 have been studying. The activities included making Ice Cream (Thermal energy), Simon Says (Motion), Archery (Elastic energy), and much more! There was amazing energy from all parties! Grade 4 had their Communicator hats on and did really well explaining complex things to the younger students!
