Waterfall students have been making books all about Who We Are for this unit of inquiry to further demonstrate that Everyone Has Special Likes. First, we inquired about how old Waterfall students are so students could color the birthday cake and count the number of candles needed for the top. Then, they chose some of their favorites like food, animals, characters and hobbies. Some students did not see what they liked in the pictures and asked for different animals or food independently, then helped to look for images they liked!

Also, new Waterfall students enjoyed some extra music and some energetic games this week in Rhythmic!

Some students said, “I want to see the tomatoes” when everyone went outside for playtime. Many students checked their tomatoes, and one of the new students asked to water some thirsty tomatoes with Canyon. They have started to smell the plants and say that they smell tomatoes! So they took a close look and have noticed small, green tomatoes where some yellow flowers used to be. After looking at the plants Waterfall student celebrated the beautiful weather by playing together in the sandbox, and chasing bubbles in the schoolyard!

Our line of inquiry in the Who We Are unit is learning that We Are Connected! Health is important for everyone! So students talked about many different colors, and all agreed that they think teeth should be white. Waterfall are always excited to brush their teeth and sing the “Brush Your Teeth” song. Sometimes they have a leader to show the class how to carefully clean their teeth before bedtime. Waterfall also reads before bedtime because it is restful and a great way to use all the language that they have learned. This week we read “Where is Spot,” and and “I Can.” Bedtime is the perfect time for everyone to practice and develop balanced, healthy habits.
