This week marked the exciting conclusion of our unit, “Personal Growth and Changes.” After weeks of exploring their identities, physical and emotional development, and how their experiences shape who they are, students proudly shared their final projects. Each project was a reflection of personal growth, whether through detailed body diagrams, thoughtful timelines, or written reflections that demonstrated how much they had learned and what they had gained about themselves.

We ended the week with a bang at our Talent Show! Students shared amazing performances, including exciting dance routines, piano playing, artwork, RC helicopter flying, shogi matches, resin creations, and even a thrilling skateboard act! It was a fun and lively way to celebrate everyone’s unique talents and creativity.

This week truly captured what our unit has been about—growth, courage, and self-expression. Great work, everyone! We’re so proud of you.

今週は、ユニット「個人の成長と変化」の素晴らしい締めくくりとなりました。数週間にわたって、自分自身のアイデンティティ、身体的・感情的な成長、そして経験が自分をどう形作っているかを探究してきた子どもたちは、ついに自分たちの最終プロジェクトを自信を持って発表しました。体のしくみを詳しく描いた図、考え抜かれたタイムライン、そして自分自身について学んだことや気づきをまとめた文章など、それぞれのプロジェクトが個人の成長を表していました。

そして週の締めくくりには、タレントショーが行われ、大盛り上がり！ダンス、ピアノ演奏、アート作品、ラジコンヘリの飛行、将棋対決、レジン作品、さらにはスケートボードのパフォーマンスまで、子どもたちの素晴らしい特技と創造力が光る時間になりました。

今週は、このユニットのテーマである「成長・勇気・自己表現」をまさに体現する一週間となりました。みんな、本当によく頑張りましたね！私たちは皆さんのことをとても誇りに思っています。

Exploring Change in Nature – Our Trip to Togakushi

This week, all of our students from Grades 1 to 5 visited the Togakushi Natural History Museum. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect our classroom learning with the natural world.

As part of our unit “Personal Growth and Changes,” students have been learning how all living things grow, adapt, and change. During the trip, they explored exhibits filled with bones, fossils, preserved animals, and seasonal displays that show how nature changes over time.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the museum staff for providing a fantastic guided tour. The explanations helped students make meaningful connections and inspired lots of questions and observations. Many students were especially fascinated by the bone room, where they saw skeletons from a variety of animals.

This field trip helped deepen our understanding of growth and change, not only in ourselves but in the world around us.

今週、1年生から5年生までの全学年で戸隠自然史博物館を訪れました。教室での学びと自然の世界をつなげる、素晴らしい機会になりました。

現在のユニット「成長と変化」では、すべての生き物がどのように成長し、変化し、適応していくのかを学んでいます。今回の校外学習では、骨や化石、動物の標本、季節の変化を示す展示などを見学しました。

素晴らしいガイドツアーをしてくださった博物館のスタッフの皆さまに、心より感謝申し上げます。丁寧な説明により、子どもたちはたくさんの気づきや疑問を持つことができました。特に骨の部屋は多くの生徒にとって印象的で、さまざまな動物の骨格に驚いていました。

この校外学習は、「私たち自身の成長と変化」だけでなく、「周りの世界の変化」への理解も深める素晴らしい経験となりました。
