Our little inquirers in Savanna have begun an exciting journey of discovering the community helpers around us!
Savannaでは、身のまわりの「コミュニティヘルパー（地域で働く人たち）」について楽しく学ぶ探究をスタートしました！
To kick off this unit of inquiry, the whole class took a purposeful trip to the school library to explore books about community helpers. With curiosity leading the way, the children browsed, scanned, and read through various books, sparking their interest in the many different roles people play in supporting our community. This activity set the stage for the new discoveries they’ll be making in the coming days.
このユニットのスタートとして、全員でスクールライブラリーでコミュニティヘルパーに関する本を探しました。
子どもたちは好奇心いっぱいに本を手に取り、ページをめくりながら、地域を支えるさまざまな仕事に興味を広げていきました。
この活動を通して、これからの探究に向けたワクワクする気持ちが高まってきています！
On the writing front, our little learners have proudly completed practicing the Magic C series — a fun and foundational handwriting practice! The Magic C letters include: c, a, d, g, o, q, s — all starting with a simple “c” shape, followed by unique strokes that complete each letter. With this milestone reached, we’re now focusing on guiding them to write on the correct baseline, a skill they’re very excited to master!
ライティングでは、「マジックCシリーズ」の練習を終えました！
このシリーズは、書き方の基本となる大切な練習です。
「マジックC」の文字（c, a, d, g, o, q, s）は、すべて「c」の形から始まり、それぞれに違った動きで完成させていきます。
このステップを終え、次は文字を正しいベースラインに沿って書くことに挑戦しています。子どもたちはその練習にもとても意欲的です！
We also had a special visit from a JR High School student this week. They joined us for a work experience program to explore what kind of community helper they might want to become in the future. The children enjoyed the time spent together, creating a meaningful connection between younger and older learners.
また今週は、中学生が職場体験プログラムの一環でクラスを訪れてくれました。
将来どんなコミュニティヘルパーになりたいかを考えるための体験です。
子どもたちはお兄さんと過ごす時間をとても楽しみ、年齢の違う学び手同士の素敵なつながりが生まれました。
As we head into the long weekend, we encourage families to collaborate on the Community Helper Journal. This is a wonderful opportunity for children to learn more about what their parents do to contribute to the community — and we can’t wait to hear all about it when they return!
