Milky Way: Learning to work as one through a fun scavenger hunt!(July 28-August 1)

Welcome to Milky Way’s last blog of the month of July. This week was a busy one as usual. The students are doing their very best to understand the unit’s topic of TEAMWORK. They actually had their first big practice for sports festival on Wednesday. Ms.Airi will be away until the end of August so the homeroom teachers will give their all into helping them prepare for the big day.

Continuing from where we left off last week, we analyzed the term LEADER a bit more. They did a sorting activity, where they had to look at pictures and categorize them based on how they think a leader should and shouldn’t behave. They then did individual worksheets where they had to draw 3 things they think a good leader should do and 3 things they think a good leader should not do.

To help them further understand the essence of teamwork , they went on a scavenger hunt on Tuesday! They chose names for their teams; Super Mario galaxy, Unicorn, Diamond and Cute my melo. They were tasked with searching for objects that were listed on their team’s worksheet within 20 minutes and then present them to the teachers in chronological order. All teams had to look for different things so it was quite a quest! They all had fun and shared some interesting opinions regarding the way they worked with their team mates, when we reflected after the activity. These are some of the things they said: 1️⃣We should cooperate more in order to win next time.2️⃣She was a good leader because she knew where to go. She encouraged us to stay together as a group.3️⃣He was a good leader because he showed us the worksheet so that we knew what to look for.

This week was scorching hot so they enjoyed their time in the pool!

This week’s show and tells were fun for everyone .In order to make their presentations more meaningful, please help them practice what they plan to say beforehand if you have the time.

We said goodbye to our dear friend who joined us from the beginning of July. We will miss you so much R!
