This week marked the exciting start of our 2-week Summer Program—and what a sunny, splashy week it has been in the Milky Way class! 🌊🍉
We welcomed two familiar faces back into our classroom and were thrilled to meet two new friends who joined our summer adventures. It’s always heartwarming to see friendships form and grow so quickly!
Every day, the children looked forward to our daily water play, where they laughed, splashed, and cooled off under the summer sun. 💦☀️

Even when we’re indoors, the fun doesn’t stop in Milky Way class!
This week, we explored traditional street games that brought lots of excitement and friendly competition. First up was the marble game—the goal was to roll a marble into a circle and try to bump as many marbles out as possible. The children quickly got the hang of it and cheered each other on with every successful shot! 🔵
Next, we played a unique rubber band game, where rubber bands were tied into a bow. With a quick flick, the challenge was to loosen up the bow. Whoever could untangle the most rubber bands got to keep them as a prize—what a fun test of focus and flicking skills! 🟠💥
Our third game was a classic: hopscotch! The kids hopped and balanced with big smiles on their faces, enjoying this simple but timeless game that kept everyone moving and laughing. 🟡🏃♀️🏃♂️

To cool down after all the action, we had a very special afternoon treat: kakigōri (shaved ice)! Everyone got to choose their favorite syrup—melon, strawberry, or Hawaiian blue—and enjoyed their colorful, icy creations.

On Friday, we had a special summer tradition—suikawari, or watermelon smashing! Blindfolded and full of giggles, the children took turns swinging their stick, hoping to hit the big, juicy watermelon. Everyone cheered each other on, and the excitement was contagious. 🎯🍉

After the big smash, we shared a lovely lunch with the Aurora and Shooting Star classes. The children enjoyed not only their meals but also the joy of community and togetherness. To top it all off, we finally got to enjoy the sweet, refreshing watermelon as a perfect summer treat.

To end our fun-filled week, we enjoyed a calming and creative activity—bracelet making using colorful beads! 💫
This hands-on activity was not only a great way to practice fine motor skills, but it also gave each child the chance to express their creativity by choosing their own colors and patterns. With lots of focus and tiny fingers at work, the results were beautiful handmade bracelets that the children were so proud of. 🎨🧵
Each bracelet now serves as a special souvenir, a reminder of the laughter, learning, and friendships we’ve built during the first week of our Summer Program.

We’re so proud of everything the children have done this week—from outdoor adventures and indoor games to refreshing treats and creative moments.
It’s been a fun-filled first week, and we can’t wait to see what next week brings. Stay tuned for more sunshine, laughter, and learning! 🌞✨
