Pool time is always a favorite among students! Beyond helping them cool down and beat the heat, this engaging activity allows learners to develop essential water skills—such as sitting safely in the water, putting their faces under, and even practicing crawling movements. While it can be challenging for some, it’s a source of joy and growth for many.
プールの時間は、子どもたちにとっていつも大人気のアクティビティです！
水に入って暑さをしのぐだけでなく、水の中での安全な座り方や顔をつけること、さらにはハイハイのような動きの練習など、大切な水のスキルを身につける良い機会となっています。
中には水が掛かるのを嫌がる子もいますが、多くの子どもたちにとっては、成長と喜びを感じられる貴重な体験となっています。そんな中、今回はプール中の避難訓練に取り組みました。
As the alarm sounded, our young inquirers showed great focus and resilience. Despite feeling a little scared, no one panicked. They listened attentively to instructions, communicated clearly, and took action. Children in the pool held the side securely, while those on the fountain mat squatted down and covered their heads with their hands. After the shaking, they covered their heads with towels and gathered for a class reflection.
In that moment, our students demonstrated what it means to be caring, principled, and balanced—understanding that safety includes not just themselves, but their peers as well.
At ISN, we believe that even our youngest learners can be risk-takers and thinkers, ready to face challenges with confidence and a sense of responsibility.
非常ベルが鳴ると、子どもたちは素晴らしい集中力とたくましさを見せてくれました。
少し怖さを感じながらも、誰ひとりパニックになることなく、落ち着いて行動することができました。
先生の話をよく聞き、自分の気持ちや状況をしっかり伝え、すぐに行動に移す姿が見られました。
プールにいた子どもたちはしっかりとプールのふちにつかまり、噴水マットの上にいた子どもたちはしゃがんで手で頭を守りました。
揺れが収まった後は、タオルで頭を覆い、安全な場所に集まってクラスで振り返りの時間をもちました。
その瞬間、子どもたちは「思いやり」「正しさ」「心のバランス」とは何かをしっかりと行動で示してくれました。
自分自身の安全だけでなく、お友だちの安全も大切にする気持ちを持って行動していたのがとても印象的でした。
ISNでは、たとえ年齢が小さくても、子どもたちは「挑戦する力」や「考える力」を持っており、自信と責任感をもってさまざまなことに向き合うことができると信じています。
Back in the classroom, we had the pleasure of being visited by two of the most popular community helpers in town: a doctor and a nurse! Each guest brought something unique to their presentation—the doctor turned his talk into a fun quiz, while the nurse (who’s also a proud mom in our community!) shared personal photos that made her presentation even more meaningful.
教室に戻った後は、子どもたちに大人気のコミュニティヘルパーお二人――お医者さんと看護師さん――が来てくださいました！
それぞれのゲストが個性あふれるお話をしてくださり、お医者さんは楽しいクイズ形式でお話を進めてくれました。
また、看護師さんはご自身の写真を見せながら、どんな場所で、どんな道具を使って働いているのかお話ししてくださり、脈のはかり方を教えてくださったり血圧計をつかわせてくださったり、心温まる特別な時間となりました。
The students were engaged, curious, and full of questions. But the most exciting part? Getting to be a doctor or nurse for a day!
子どもたちは興味津々で、お話にしっかりと耳を傾け、たくさんの質問をしてくれました。
そして何よりも子どもたちが一番ワクワクしていたのは――実際に「お医者さん」や「看護師さん」になりきって体験できたことでした！
Our little inquirers had a blast reenacting how medical professionals care for others. Through play-based learning, they practiced empathy, communication, and confidence—truly embodying the spirit of caring community members.
子どもたちは、医療のお仕事を再現しながら楽しく学ぶことができました。
遊びを通した学びの中で、思いやりやコミュニケーション、自信を育み、まさに「やさしい地域の一員」としての心を体験していました。
We also had the privilege of visiting a pharmacy, where we witnessed firsthand how a pharmacist prepares medicine. It was a truly unique experience that helped our students understand how medicines are made and how pharmacists contribute to keeping people healthy.
また今回は、薬局を見学する貴重な機会にも恵まれました。
薬剤師さんが実際にお薬を準備する様子を間近で見ることができ、薬がどのように作られるのか、そして薬剤師さんが人々の健康を守るためにどんなお仕事をしているのかを学ぶことができました。
子どもたちにとって、とても貴重で印象深い体験となりました。
This meaningful visit sparked curiosity and appreciation for the important role pharmacists play in our community—an eye-opening moment for our young inquirers and thinkers!
この貴重な見学を通して、薬剤師さんの大切なお仕事に対する興味や感謝の気持ちが芽生えました。
子どもたちにとって、地域社会で活躍する人々の役割を知る学びと気づきの瞬間となり、まさに探究者や考える人としての視点が育まれたように感じます。

We logged into Instagram and observed a modern form of selling in action. It was especially unforgettable when the seller—who happens to be one of our SV students’ moms—greeted us live during her session!

ブログの締めくくりとして、ぜひ皆さまにご紹介したい、子どもたちにとってもとても珍しい体験――ライブセールス（生中継販売）の様子をリアルタイムで見学したことについてお伝えします。

特に印象的だったのは、ライバーであるSVクラスのお子さんのお母さまが、ライブ配信中に直接私たちに向けてご挨拶をしてくださったことでした！
